Texas Tech sophomore Gil Roberts placed second in the men's 400M at the USA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., earning a spot on the US National team for the IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

The three-time All-American ran the second-fastest time of his career with a 44.93 placing second overall. He beat the likes of Olympians Kerron Clement, Darold Williamson and David Neville.
