Just read this a few hours ago
I am very happy to see us FINALLY getting some credit for what we did last year. I couldn’t believe how many publications and other media outlets had us NOT EVEN RANKED going in to next season. I think #21 is pretty fair, if not a tad bit low (maybe like #19). Rivals seems to have a good idea of how things usually work with the Tech program, as they acknowledged that the offense should still be extremely productive (apparently every one else thinks we were never good offensively until we had Harrell and Crabtree). Hopefully the team can take this preseason #21 rank up 20 spots once the season is over!!! GUNS UP!!!
I think the credit we got for last year ended with our ranking last year. As it should have. We lost our two most important parts to that team. I’m glad someone thinks we’ll be decent as well…but I will be surprised if many more publications/outlets put us in the top 25. We’ll be there at the end, though. And that’s alllll that matters.
“Jeffers providing incredible speed on kickoff returns.” I know we use powerful words too much in this modern world, but really? Is Jeffers THAT kind of fast?
I don't think so,
and echo your sentiment. 4.3 speed is pretty rare, and I highly doubt there are many players across the Big 12, let alone Texas Tech, that can run THAT fast. I would guess that Jeffers runs in the 4.43-4.47 range. That doesn’t mean he’s not explosive, because he most certainly is (I saw him in a few practices), but 4.3 is a stretch. I think Nehemiah Glover is the fastest player Tech has had under Leach, and I would be confident that he could run in the 4.3 range.
