Wreck'em Tech!
OMVP Jeffers has a break out game
DMVP Davis intecepts a pass and causes a fumble for a turnover
Texas Tech 49 Rice 10
I just hope the coaching staff challenges Potts to check down and run the
freaking ball! This is the last game to practice before we either get blown out or give ourselves a chance in Austin.
Redemption Time
OMVP: Baron Batch and the O-Line – Running game exceeds 150 yards.
DMVP: Williams, second game in a row.
Score: 48-24
Welcome to the Jones!!
This is the game where the Tech Pirates get their sea legs. Again I’m not so concerned how the RB’s get the ball but they need at least 30 touches. Potts also needs to take what he can get which if the reports are right he can actually scramble alittle and that would just add to what other DC’s have to worry about. He will cut down on the INT’s and the Tech D will make the Rice O walk the plank. The only real excitment for Rice will be the MOB at the half.
OMVP: Baron(I’m back) Batch
DMVP: Cody Davis
Score: 52-13 The Red Pirates
Wreck’em Tech
DMVp: Dline as a whole getting 2 sacks and chasing the QB around all day long
OMVP: Potts for checking down to the run more and Batch for actually running the ball for yardage. I don’t care how many yards they get on the ground I just want to see more that 100 combined.
49 TTU to 9 Rice (we hold them out of endzone for 0 tds and they get 3 Fieldgoals)
I would love to see a few INT’s and more pass breakups than last week from the secondary. Linebackers and Dline just more of the same.
"56,000 screaming crazies in The Jones rockin' as it has never rocked before" - Terry Bowden
If you not having fun....then your not playing the game right.
OMVP: Potts as he resolves his 1st game issues and throws for over 400 yds. The backs will do a lot better after being ragged on all week by the coaches.
DMVP: Bront Bird as he creates havoc by having 10 tackles,3 for loss, and a fumble caused.
Also: Special teams produce a score somewhere.
Score: Tech-48, Rice-17
TTpilk
I think
That I went .500 on my prediction last week
so this week…
O MVP: Harrison Jeffers (because the running game HAS to be better. Again more of a challenge than a prediction)
D MVP: LB’s Duncan, Williams, and Bird will contain the Rice QBs

10 receivers
10 players caught balls last week… their hands are warm. If it really is raining I would love to see Leach go ‘power football’ for just one game to force his O-line and RBs to prove their worth. Something to the tune of only 20 pass attempts. That is not a prediction, just wishful thinking.
OMVP: Potts loses the INTs and picks up a few TDs
DMVP: Cody Davis steps up for the second week in a row to show he earned the starting spot.
Raining: TTU 35 Rice 6
Sunshine: TTU 45 Rice 12
we will have another poor win
harrison jeffers will be MVP! impressing everyone with its running game. and batch will be somewhat motivated and his numbers will be better but not as much. harrison jeffers will a lot of fans this game.
potts will have some trouble and will still hold somewhat the offense. he will feel like shit after the game and will do tons better for the texas game. the o line will improve somewhat, defense will be effective.
very close game… i give tech a +12point spread

Hey, I had to delete a comment because a user made what some might think is a racially insensitive joke. We’re all about having fun on DTN, just not at the expense of others.
Go Raiders . . .
Double-T Nation
Hopefully On Track
Synopsis of the Game: Taking Leach at his word that all of the problems were correctable. Potts and the RB’s light up the board. The defense is stellar. Ice cream is offered for free, not just for people in the stands, but for those of us listening on the radio. Halfway through the 4th Quarter, Leach squints towards Austin, then nods a knowing nod.
Offensive MVP :: Baron Batch, and I’ll keep saying that until it happens..
Defensive MVP :: Bront Bird.
Final Score :: Rice 6, Texas Tech 63
Ice Cream :: Vanilla
... I'm just sayin'

Red Raiders get back on track with Potts throwing for 400-450 and 4 TD’s. Batch comes out like the monster he is with 100+ yards of rushing and a few TD’s of his own. Jeffers shows that he is the future by running wild through Rice’s defense. First string defense pitches a shut out with the 3rd team gives up 2 late TD’s.
OMVP: Potts, Batch
DMVP Dline 5-6 sacks.
Score: 56-14
Breakout game
I think the fans will like the way the game looks much better than with North Dakota. Simply because of the type of game Rice plays. Basically, Rice sucks passing and is very dependent upon rushing to do anything.
For Tech we will see more of who will be the play makers for the season.
Thus OMVP is a toss up between Lewis and Jeffers. I really think that Jeffers is very ellusive and will show case how hard it is to bring down a short stocky back with skill and speed. Batch may get more touches and yards, but I really think Jeffers is the one to watch. Even Leach was impressed last Saturday and regretted not giving Jeffers not Batch more touches.
DMVP: M Williams has a motor that will not quit. Thus I expect him to continue that trend. The other will most likely be Duncan. Because Rice is a “Run first” type of team at this time and sucking passing. This makes the LB corps shine if they are active and have their head in the game. Others like Henley and Howard should also have a very good game.
Score: Texas Tech 59 Rice 17
Potts: roughly 28 of 39 for 464 6 TDs
Tech puts up a total offensive of 660 yards.
Tech: 50<
Rice: <20
Leach is going to want to run up the score after last week, up to and including unleashing Jeffers to the tune of 100+ combined yards. Tramain comes in and shows the JV how you play wideout, he gets more than 5 catches, maybe more than 10 if he brings his flypaper gloves. Detron is the business, but then we knew he would be. Austin Zouzalik is the only receiver who doesn’t get overshadowed by these two, pulling quality double-duty in the passing and special teams games. Corndog goes back to the bench to make room for Swindall, but he’ll be back next year. Ed Britton regresses in the passing game (if for no other reason than Swindall being back), but continues to impress as a returner. Alex Torres burns up the bubble and Crabtree screens, but goes one more game before he gets to show what he can do catching passes downfield. Batch gains traction behind an O-Line that got an earful during practice this week. Potts doesn’t throw off his back foot anymore (ok, maybe once or twice, but less),
See y’all there!
