Espn Crabtree article - front page
I'm just as tired as everyone else about the whole Crabtree contract (or lack of) saga, but here is a pretty in-depth article about Crabtree and his image as a diva.

Stubborn to get his own way
It seems the moral of the story is that none of these holdouts worked out very well. The holdouts were either out of the league after a couple of years, or they ended up regretting their holdout anyway despite having a “decent” career.
He may indeed not be an “entourage” guy or a diva, but his belief that he is the best definitely shines through. Let’s hope his brash confidence doesn’t end up costing him everything. If he’s not influenced by all of these hanger-ons then it’s absolutely his belief that he is the best and he should be paid like the best. He has to be pretty stubborn to hold onto that belief in the face of $20 million and unprecedented criticism.
Somehow it doesn’t give me much comfort knowing he watched a TV movie while his Red Raiders were on national television. We’ll see how many endorsement checks roll in next year…

not trying to pick a fight
But my take is totally different. Check out what former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer said:
“He’s a very focused kid. Far more focused than kids his age,” (former NFL quarterback Trent) Dilfer says. “He compartmentalizes things. My impression is that in his mind, he’s compartmentalized this as saying, ‘Hey, my job is to be ready to play when my people put me in position to play.’ He doesn’t think he’s part of that. He’s just focused on getting himself physically and mentally ready for the NFL. And he thinks the business side of it — of signing or not — is a whole separate issue, and he’s not concerning himself with it.”
So, it seems Crabtree is taking Coach Leach’s advice and listening carefully to his agent and doing what he’s told.
