Five Initial Thoughts
One :: 6, 10, 13, 17: That's the point totals for the Lobos for their 4 games this season. New Mexico is one of the worst teams in the nation in scoring offense, 119th in the nation. This is a bad offensive team right now and it will be interesting to see how this Texas Tech defense reacts after last week's loss to Houston.
Two :: One Strength: This is really scary, but if you check out the NCAA official page on the Lobos (which is what I use to put together these numbers) they are 100th or worse in just about every category other than Pass Defense, Sacks and Tackles for Loss. The Lobos are actually very good in those respects and I have to wonder if this should be a cause for concern for a passing team.
Three :: Getting Closer: The first 4 games of the Lobos young season have been tough, with a bad loss to TAMU to start the season, but New Mexico played a very close game with their in-state rivals, the New Mexico St. Aggies. The Lobos played a good game, but it appeared that their defense was probably incredibly worn out after the game, being on the field for 37 minutes.
Four :: Not Sure What the Lobos Are: With these numbers, it's tough to tell exactly what the Lobos really are. I'm sure that this is a bad team, and not to pile-on here, with the numbers that I'm looking at, there's not even very much to get excited about, either offensively or defensively and conversely, it makes this weekly article really hard to write.
Five :: Road Games: The TAMU game was the only road game of the year for New Mexico, which they lost 6-41, and even playing at home has been difficult. I would expect a similar result on Saturday and if it's not painfully obvious, and as referenced above, statistically, New Mexico is an awful team and this article is difficult to write.

at least Potts will get some more repetition and build confidence.....
" Answers -- Become Resources."
Without Questions; There are limited Resources...
Raiders get back off the mat..
and hang 45 – 65 points on the Lobos. And yes to all the folks who are still after over 36 hours of after the fact bemoaning, wringing their hands over UH game. The 2nd String will play a lot and they will score 2 or 3 times. It’s a shake it off moment. Refocus. Clean the bore sights off and address the team goals style event. It’s likely we see a shutout. Just wreck em..
"do routine things routinely"
the way this team is playing..every game will be a struggle.
After 4 games Potts is still making the same mistakes. The defense refuses to tackle anyone. Batch and Torres were the only bright spots on Saturday.
I really wish Potts would move around in the pocket. The only time he moves is when he’s being chased…..and then he goes straight back and looks panicked.
As disappointed as I was over the last two game results, Ithink this team, with or without Carter, has a chance to win 8-9 games. I am also expecting this offensse to click against the Lobos in a way we have not seen in aa while. Sixty points would be a good start-showing they have finally settled in to a good routine. We should be expecting over 200 yds rushing and 1000 yds passing—(just kidding, maybe), or actually at least 500 passing yds. Eight to Ten TDs are expected, too. Time to get off the pot and wipe up the field with someone else’s A$$.

I'm just glad we've got New Mexico and K State
before we have to go on the road again. Leach needs to bring in Tony Robbins or Dr Phil or someone because this team needs some serious group therapy before it can be expected to win on the road against a team of any quality.
All Perspective.....
On one hand we played the supposed #17 team in the Nation @ their place. We were tied or ahead most of the game. They made some mistakes and so did we and yet it is a game we should have won so that’s bad!!!! but on the other hand, we found a running game, Potts obviously is still learning, and we still have 7 conference games to win. If we would somehow go 7-1 in the Big 12 South I would be very proud of this team just as I was last year. So again a ranked team on the road in the past meant a beat down this year an incrediable missed opportunity that won’t happen next year when we have almost everyone back! So in the end Tech has made progress one step at a time but as fans we want a leap @ a time! Wreck’Em Tech
