After clearing the haze of Mr. Miller

I've tried to recall what was happening during the game.  Let's take Pott's poor performance and the myriad penalties as a given, and something that can be corrected.  I want to focus on what I thought was the root cause of our struggle, namely, lack of aggression.  Our OL should be the nastiest sobs out there but what we got was a whole lot of nothin'.  I'm trying to recall when I played, and we were coached to try and murder the guy across from you.  Literally, envision that he had just taken a baseball bat to your little sister's head right in front of you...  What are you gonna' do about it?  You know, that kind of rage.  Our guys just didn't have it.  It is hard to coach to turn it on and off for every play but it is essential for success.  If Matt Moore can't get these guys to dig down deep for this aggression, then it's going to be a long season.

I hope the guys watch the game film and get embarrassed that they allowed lesser talent to push them around. Bring out the nasty or Sept. 19 will be humiliating.

O-Line did ok on passing downs

but they didn’t get anything resembling a push in the running game.

Pass blocking requires exactly zero aggressiveness. It’s a backwards movement. They have a thing or three to work on this week.

Agreed

I agree with CoachT (man I hate to do that….ha). The reason Tech struggled is not associated with one player or one side of the ball. It has to do with aggression. The football is in play for one hour. ONE HOUR! How hard can it be to want to dominate whomever is across from you FOR ONE HOUR? Jeeesh….. So many times I have seen Tech get lazy during a game, for whatever reason. If they are really committed to playing for Big-12 and National titles, they have to play mean, throughout the whole game, never —NEVER-let up, and F-I-N-I-S-H! They have one more game to get it right or they are going to be looking at the kind of season the bobbleheads have been suggesting they will have. This team AND the coaches need to get serious about stepping it up. OK. Vent complete.

True

Another thing. I noticed that there was no leadership on the team. There is no current leader on the team to step up and inspire the other into the proper action.

Lets hope that someone on the team takes the up the challenge and chews butt and displays the proper leadership skills that make linemen want to litterally kill if the play did not result in a TD for offense or a Loss of yards or turnover for defense.

Potts needs to soul search! He also needs a friend or a coach to take away his diper and explain that he is the team leader and needs to be better than the Head Coach when it comes to motivation and be wore upset and breath fire and brimstone when the team effort sucks.
