If you not having fun....then your not playing the game right.
Watched or listened to most of the Big12 South opponents this weekend..
Watched the entire Georgia vs Okie lite game. Pretty interesting first thing that leaps to mind these guys are good on special teams and much better on defense than last year. Def coord. is doing yeoman’s work with the front 7. Georgia’s offense was overrated. The OSU Offense was not as polished ( much like us) as expected. But they got a lot more dynamic as the 2nd half unfolded.
UT pretty much punched LA Monroe in the gut but defensively could not really drub those guys. I.e. the Monroe offense drove on them and like a gnat wouldn’t go away. UT special teams are pretty polished.
Baylor defensively is better than advertised. But on the other hand Wake Forest wasn’t very dynamic offensively. I was seeing so many dropped balls by the Wake receivers’ and not pass break ups by the Baylor DBs. My suspicion is the Baylor O line is going to expose them. It did not appear to me that Wake had enough D linemen to manhandle or stress the Baylor O line. Nearly everybody in the Big 12 does. I did like the way R. Griffin spread the ball around. And Baylor is showing some real speed on the WR’s position.
Oklahoma hmm.. not too polished in the way they execute , timing seems to be of with the O line and receivers vice the QB. And that includes Bradford. Or maybe BYU is just that good on defense? You would have thought the all american RB’s from OK would just have won that game for them. It really made me sick when Bradford got hurt. Just hate to see any player wacked.
Kansas they drubbed Northern Colorado and did it with option style QB scrambles, pitches to the RB Sharp and some nice throws to the wide outs who scooted all over the DBs . Note of caution much like Texas last year T. Reesing is not going to get away with that QB running up the field stuff in Big 12 play. A. he’s too slow b. he is too small. C. like Oklahoma the drop off to the second string QB is a gut punch. So this KU game plan basically doesn’t look executable in Big 12 play. Defensively the down linemen looked a little soft.
Saw only highlights of AtM, Kstate and NE . So I have no opinion. Watched all o f the Colorado game darned if Colorado State didn’t man handle them. At least thru the first half and Colorado skill positions couldn’t execute well enough to keep getting first downs and just punch over 3 x TD’s. Kinda of a defensive punting marathon the second half. My prediction is Colorado self destructs. Just a hunch.
Saw half the Mizzou game and they are underrated by the sportscasters. Looking pretty crisp against Illinois.
