A 5-foot-11, 230-pound linebacker Verbally Commits to the Red Raiders

Fred Harvey, a 5-foot-11, 230-pound linebacker from way over in Memphis, Tenn., credited with 21 sacks last season, has made a verbal committment to Texas Tech, according to the AJ's Don Williams. He also had over 70 tackles. He had about 8 sacks as a sophomore, with just under 70 tackles.  So who needs Fehoko's brother? If this kid is real, he could be the next Zack Thomas. I don't recall this name on any lists, so maybe Tech has gotten another "under-the-radar player. He looks like he may be the right size for a Middle LB slot, so he and Fehoko would be battling it out for the starting job. My guess is when he arrives he probably will not redshirt but be asked to contribute right away. I have not gone to Scout or ESPN yet to check him out but will do so now.

He’s 100% OLB just as VJ Fehoko is 100% MLB.

I reaaaally don’t think that, if VJ wants to commit, we’ll not gladly take him, but I doubt we take any other LB.

Lets just wait and see!

VJ is doiing what many other top talent does. He has already decided! I can promise that as based on past high talent they all pretty much decided by the second game in the season. They just delayed to look at the options and to see what is what. Sometimes, a player sees a program that is knocks their socks off and they change their mind. But in all honesty, they pick schools based on where they can get quality time as a starter to show case their talent.

Thus some kids go to schools like Florida and have to wait 4 years to show case. where as other places its show casing as a Freshman like Baylor has moved to doing.

The real issue for a player is where will they get to play in their dream position or with an offense or defense they want to be apart of.

Time will tell. If VJ is smart, He will toss Hawaii and Cal. However, He will have to decide where he will be happy. No one wants to see kids on a team that they can not stand. Its why Big name schools like Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M have 2 to 3 kids transfer out every year because they picked a named school over what is actually good for them and what makes them happy.
