Greetings from the Vol Navy

I haven't been around a whole lot since a few of us in Knoxville were dreaming dreams of pirate flags flying in our navy on the Tennessee River, but it doesn't mean I've lost any interest in the Dread Pirate. Texas Tech has always been one of the most entertaining teams in college under Leach, and that's ultimately what the football spectacle is about. And as macabre as this may be, the Cap'n is going to give one more show at Tech, where he flexes his old lawyer muscles. And I think he'll win one more time in his normal fashion - all offense, all the time.

I don't envy your situation - in love with a University (the buildings and people) but at way with the white collars. Finding meaningful ways to express displeasure without harming the students isn't easy. But if I may, here are some things I've observed.

1) One of the most fun things about Tech is the pageantry around the Pirate mythology. The costumes, the yarrrrs, the painted parking spot, etc. I love it all. Please keep it going. You're just as much fun as the Pirate himself.

2) One thing you've noted many times over is that Leach was special for being different. So are you.

3) Did you ever notice that the Tech logo looks like a huge middle finger when flown upside-down? Just sayin'

One last thing. Don't forget to have fun. Just because a few white collars have lost touch means you have to stop being the best show in college.

Symbol of a Revolution!!!

My Friend you have given a symbol to the revolution! The upside down double T will be our way to shoot the finger to the administration. That is the first smile I’ve gotten in this whole ordeal. All Tech fans that feel the admin screwed up bad and needs to go should proudly show the upside down Double T!!!! At the game this message can be conveyed to all media at every opportunity – someone will report it eventually! Now that is fun!

Great Idea, Hooper. Hope you don’t mind, but I just made it my avatar. Maybe we all should to show our solidarity against the neanderthals on the BoR.

Heh.

No problems at all. Internet ideas are meant to be shared, not owned.

Thanks

It’s nice to hear thoughts like that at times like these.
