3 Star RB Aaron Spikes no longer a Red Raider Commit
According to TechTalk on 104.3 and www.redraidersports.com, 3 Star RB Aaron Spikes have "parted ways", and he will no longer be coming to Texas Tech. According to 104.3 this does not appear to be a true de-commit, but rather both sides saying it's not a good fit.

Could not see the story
But, While Spikes is a loss, hopefully Tubs will entice an RB that will be just as good or better that Tech previously was not considering or Tech was not being considered by the prospect. The “Star-Power” of our recruits are dwilndling, so Tubs need to fight to get it back into the top 25 or so.

I don't know much about this, but the way it is worded
This may have happened anyway…
I hope if Spikes is still eligible he finds a good home before recruiting is over.
I would love to know a little more about what led to this parting of the ways.

I always wondered if coaches were thinking Spikes could end up playing defense similar to J Wall or F Mitchem, etc...
He went both ways in high school… playing safety I believe… has pretty good speed…

were fine for now on rb's....dont need 3 star anyway. those can be ags or okie lites
We have Jeffers and stephens as SO. and Batch is a Sr and Crawford is a JR. We are good and can upgrade next year with the extra scholarships.
It is like qb, we need one per year for depth and what if's.

Almost would be a dis-service to kid to bring another back in. It could be 2 years before he saw playing time with the depth chart we have. Unless he was a 4 star, its practice squad and special teams. I believe Willis and Tubbs have some bama sleepers they might be making room for.

That is why I commented above that I would like to know more about what happened with Spikes…Seth’s report that they have offered Brandon Gainer in Florida adds to the interest of that thought. Here is one case where I am curious about chicken or egg.

Not a big deal
We have no problems with depth at RB besides Delans Griffin is still on board. We can easily pick up another in next years recruiting class. Hell lets get Johnathan Gray in 2 years.

Is Griffin going to be academically elegible?
I have heard some concerns expressed….
