Graham Harrell to coach at OSU. Not really....

I posted a comment the other day that I have a friend who visits with Harrell on a regular basis and said that he was not going to coach anywhere. So after the news came out, I went to tell her that she was wrong. Well, she said that they saw him this weekend and I learned there is more to this story.

Per thier visit, Harrell is NOT going to be coaching at OSU or on the payroll. Since Holgerson will be implementing the same offense at OSU, he asked Harrell to help him out with teaching the system to the OSU QBs. With it being the off-season and Graham "not having anything to do" he accepted the offer to go help out for a little while while Holgerson gets everything in place. So, it appears that ther is more to the story and Harrell is just helping out a friend.

I hope this eases some tension.

I think we all knew

that Graham was there just for a consulting basis. He stil on contract with the roughriders and word has it that he may be starting come fall for his team. Its gonna take more than just a summer with harrell, dana to really get the jest of the airraid.

Personally I don’t think this is much of anything. Harrell probably just wants to have a little coaching activity attached to his resume for the future. Hopefully he can someday play in the NFL or find success in CFL.

I wasn’t asking for a link, I was providing one. I didn’t see one in the original post (still don’t). No biggie.

No link, it was a personal conversation.

It was a personal conversation I had with a friend of mine who is friends with Graham Harrell and had asked Graham about this topic over the weekend. This info is what was given to me by our mutual friend.

I got that part. The linked article just confirms your conversation.

Glad to hear that GH has not given up on a playing career.

Right?

Given the chance, I think Harrell would pull a Favre. You know, die playing football…..

Good follow-up ABI

Thanks for the info. Here’s hoping he’s rolling around in Tech gear the entire time he is in Stillwater…

As I see it...

It’s as Raider1992 mentioned, a way to put some coaching on Graham’s resume. Also, after having 2 OC’s and a 1 HC on the payroll, and still wasting considerable time on the team both in the role of a coach and as the AD for okie lite, Boone Pickens probably is not willing to loosen his purse anymore this spring. So Graham walks in as a coach-consultant whatever you call it. If Boone is happy he offers Graham a permanent position and if the Ruffriders gig doesn’t work out and Graham doesn’t get to start, then he stays on at Stale Water.
