Did Potts show any sign and/or symptom of a mTBI ?
In April, the NCAA released a set of guidelines mandating that each school establish its own concussion "management plan." These plans must stipulate that a player who shows symptoms of a concussion may not return to practice or play on that day.
Texas Tech University Department of Athletic Training Sports Medicine Policies and Procedures Handbook 2010 starting on page 79 states in part:
At the first sign and/or symptom of a concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), the staff athletic trainer will take the following steps:
I. Remove the athlete from athletic activity/competition.
II. Notify the coaching staff of the respective sport as soon as possible.
III. Perform an appropriate evaluation of the student-athlete.
IV. Upon evaluation, if the staff athletic trainer suspects the student-athlete does have a concussion, he/she will remove the student-athlete athlete from further practice or competition for the remainder of the day.

He looked like he got dinged to me
I was on the 50 row 17, didn’t see the hit, but after the play I looked back at Potts and he looked like he was going to collapse.
Plus, isn’t fair to conclude that if they sent him to the hospital to get evaluated for a concussion, among other things, that they at least suspected the possibility of a concussion?

The staff and admin are pretty much compelled to act on the slightest of evidence.
There has been a significant focus on this subject in the pros and through out college and high school sports…everyone is being asked to check and double check. I see this in my grand daughter’s HS Varsity basketball program…well not just the Varsity all the way to the first level.
TTU is likely to be especially sensitized after last season’s experiences…all of them.

He was not making accurate throws
He was not making accurate throws like he had against Baylor.
He was throwing them hard but most of them were slightly off their target.

He apparently took a strong shot to the jaw, which will twist your neck to the point that your brain makes you pass out to prevent damage to the spine. I sounds like that he got close to that point. This is different from having your brain bounce around in side you head.

Potts was clearly not showing signs of a concussion or he would’ve been replaced. He just stunk it up. The most frustrating thing about Potts is that I never hear his poor play being blamed on the fact that he is very, very average. We’ve got another option, who, granted, may be just as bad (I would just like to see), and we’ll never see him. It’s either the WR’s fault, the line’s fault, a concussion, or UT’s defense. Blah, blah, blah. Maybe he is just not very good.
I personally would like to slug you so hard in the jaw that it twists your neck to the point your brain makes you pass out...
And then laugh at you while you try to toss the ball around.

Tubbs should get fired
Potts played with a concussion. It’s worse than when leach allegedly ,“according the triplets at the administration”,put Baby “got no balls” James in a dark room. I wonder why the administration doesn’t say anything about this.
He didn't have a concussion
But they did say they took him to the hospital after the game to get checked out for a concussion and it only turned out to be a sprained jaw. He shouldn’t have played the second half for this reason. Period. We either take head injuries seriously or we don’t. Are you listening Chancellor Hance?
