Well boys in a mercifull rescue by sweet baby Jesus...

I was unable to listen to the fame after our first touchdown. In celebration of my wife and I’s 7th anniversary, she surprised me with a night out away from the kids. I did get to tune in just as our final drive failed in an interception. A couple things jumped out if course: the score, that Sticks was in, and that he apparently threw for 2 touchdowns. I look forward to the analysis, and to round 2 of what should be a full blown QB controversy.

We have a full blown coaching controversy

Tuberville is a washed up retread that can’t adjust to football in 2010. I’m tired of hearing about championships and getting name dropped. Tuberville needs to win games, but he can’t do it anymore.

I don’t want to hear about how we need to wait for him to get his players in place with some golden recruiting classes. Chizek is #1 in the country, using Tuberville’s recruits at Auburn.

It’s not the players- it’s what you get out of them.

Tuberville can’t adjust and he can’t win games, no matter what his recruiting classes are ranked.

There are other ways to think of things.

To get fired up over a qb controversy

would mean that people are passionate about this season..no mas. This summer was the time to come to the conclusion that you had a million dollar arm on a nickel head.

AMEN!!

I could not agree more! This coaching staff is a miserable failure and they show zero indications that 2 or 3 years from now we will be any better! We could get the #1 ranked class and these coaches would F it up! NB and JW are JV coordinators at best!

We have the talent on this team to be were Baylor is right now! (Let that sink in…) But no, instead we are sitting at the bottom of the South and we have nothing but excuses being shoved in our faces! There is enough talent on this team to do better than this! We have weapons on offense that go unused. The play calling on offense does not give our guys a chance. We talk about lack of execution but how can you execute when the other side can pretty much guess what the next play will be??

I hear that our receivers suck because they can’t get open, but how can you get open when the offense you are being asked to run is only 5 yards deep? It is not hard to stay covered when you are running laterally through the defense the whole time?

The defense is horrible! Even Ruff never put out this kind of garbage! Maybe we lack the talent to run the new scheme….so adjust! We were way better on defense and surprise, surprise…it was with this level of talent! Willis should give back the money that we have wasted on his salary!

Stubborn & Stupid is a deadly combination

There are adjustments that could have been made starting week 2 to get the most out of THIS team THIS year, but nothing ever changes. And every single game Tubs loses he starts his press statement bemoaning the fact that we must establish a running game before we can expect anything else to work. Which makes our average 1st down run of 1.6 yards the cause of all team woes. Special teams weekly FUBARs? A consistent running game will fix that. Worst pass defense in the country (in the most pass happy major conference in the nation)? Get that ground game going & our DB’s will get more interceptions.

But Tubs has been good at repainting the deck chairs as the Titanic takes on water. New helmet color, new Auburn all white road uniforms, new HD screen to let us see the SD camera work during home games. And a swell new country club dining facility with views of the empty stadium. If this keeps up that empty stadium view will still be there on game days.

Tuberville reminds me of Mike Ditka at the New Orleans Saints. They each came in with one legendary season under their belts (85 Bears; 04 Auburn). And they proceeded to make bad decision after bad decision. Ditka traded the future of the Saints franchise away to draft a rastafarian pothead out of UT. That didn’t work out so well.

Until I begin hearing something out of Tuberville’s mouth that he understands that his initial plans for this team aren’t working as well as he had hoped & that he wants to make adjustments to improve things, I’m not very hopeful about this football program.

This was not supposed to be a rebuilding year

I’m not sure what bothers me more, the fact that Sticks is a gamer but probably won’t be allowed to start or the fact that our team is run by a former d coordinator and our defense is horrible. The two fumbles in the red zone pretty much summarize the season…failure to capitalize on opportunities.

Look at the difference between Baylor's wanting it more and playing like it and us this year

No disrespect to the players at all. IMO the coaching staff has failed to bring this team together and motivate them. Part of it I’m willing to give them a pass on due to the disruption of Leach’s termination. That had to cause turmoil with the team.

But enough is a enough – if you are a seasoned coach with so many returning starters who are hungry for a winning season you should be able to achieve more than we have so far. And the coaching staff does not seem to have a win at all costs mentality (i.e. playing Sticks).

Heck, I would settle for better looking losses. I’m really sad for the players, especially the seniors, to be experiencing this season this way.

I aint making excuses but...

What the hell was up with those damn Ref’s yesterday?? Terrible calls, just terrible. And like i’ve been reading, the staff is just bad. Was hearing the game up til the aggs got 38 on the board, then turned it off. Poor decision making on the staffs part- bring Sticks in at the 4th quarter, when already down 24. This decision needed to be made long ago, and these damn coaches didnt even try this option til now. Defense is really bad- this is on Willis, not the depth issue. Neither one of these OC’s or HC know how to manage this team properly. All in all, this year (hate to say it) I’m going to have to give a pass to this staff. They need to get their shit straight for next season though- I along with the rest of the supporters may not be so lenient next year. This season sucked!!!!

To repeat a comment on the game thread.

I would take what our radio guys say with a pinch of salt. I love listening to John Harris, and before him the legendary Jack Dale, but that’s not a source I would recommend relying on for credible opinions.

They are the ultimate homers.

And God bless them for that!

"All you’ve got to do is make a first down," Tuberville said. "We’re not good enough to do that right now – just knock it out. We’re too much of a lateral team in running the ball. We’’ve got to find a little bit better running game, some different ideas in the running game, just to try to help our defense out."

That statement from TT just about sums it up! What a freaking Loser!
