Around SBN: Jon Jones Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

A CBS blogger thinks the Minnesota job "is trending more and more" to Captain Leach.

I hadn't realized the Minnesota coaching search was such a mess. I posted a month or so ago of Leach previously on radio saying he's interested in the job and invited UM admins to his house in Key West.

Others say that his phone has been completely silent:

May want to come back to the Big-XII if Leach hires on a Minn. Also, this would be the greatest of ironies, considering how Tech came back in that bowl game to beat Minn.

2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.

Only if they

Want to win….should they hire him.

Who wants to win... people just want loyalty and history with the school, right?

Be a team. Be the most excited to play. Be the best at doing your @#&$ing job.

I saw this earlier

and it would at least be a position worthy of Mike, but it would be a helluva transition from the Florida Keys. I would much prefer he get the Miami gig, but will follow his exploits wherever he goes.

Yeah , it would be ironic to be a Minnesota after the great comeback victory against them several years ago.

If he went to Minnesota, the first on his staff would be Dauber, Luther, and Hayden Fox. They’d be unstoppable because they already know Minnesota football so well. And it would help in recruiting.

Outstanding…believe it or not, I regularly DVR that show from WGN. Classic sports comedy that has almost nothing to do with sports most episodes.

Leach will turn them into a decent team…then bolt for any school south of Kansas the minute he realizes the long and absurdly cold Minn winters happen every year. Wouldn’t balme him.

I agree

and since he apparently loves Key West, I would imagine any place in Florida would be a first choice, upper rung schools obviously.

Once he gets hired and does well someplace, his ‘crimes’ at Texas Tech will be forgotten by all but Hance, James, & Cronies as the real Mike Leach makes his presence known.

I am a little shocked Leach claims he wasn't ever contacted by Minn admins

especially with his winning record and grad rates.

I guess suing 2 of your past 3 employees (this is counting the Kentucky newspaper for libel or slander which I guess technically wasn’t an employer), and issues with school administrators at Tech and Iowa Wesleyan (or maybe it was Valdosta) doesn’t help his cause.

Maybe a reality show is what Leach needs to generate some good publicity. Wouldn’t Leach on a reality show be wild? It would definitely generate some good YouTube videos.

Temple finishes season 8-4, just like UConn, & beat UConn 30-16. UConn is going to a BCS bowl. Temple is going nowhere.

Stupid BCS.

In ‘08, I was pissed that 8-5 Cincy was in a BCS bowl, b/c the Big East is an auto-qualifier, obviously. But 11-2 TTU could not go. It’s just silly. I know the whys, I still thought it sucked.

He didn’t get the job….it just goes to show what bloggers know about the coaching carousels.
