"It was what we wanted to see with us as far as taking care of ground balls, playing defense, doing things right, and then throwing strikes," said head coach Dan Spencer, a former player who himself spent three innings behind the plate during the "Old Timers" game. "We put on the uniform and ran around like we were supposed to and like we had a bit of a plan. Our guys knew if we didn’t buckle up against (Zach) Stewart and (James) Leverton and (AJ) Ramos they would get embarrassed. They did a good job of locking in on those guys and were impressive."
