DTN T-Shirts :: Round One

Alright, the images are after the jump.  For this first round vote for your favorite.  We'll do a couple more rounds to have 3 or 4 shirts to chose from.  Regarding the time-frame, it's my understanding that ProBlogStores can get the t-shirts going fairly quickly, well before the spring game.  If I've missed a design, please let me know in the comments or presented the wrong design, then I apologize in advance.

All are great designs....

I would wear anyone of them, but my favorites are number 3 (voted for) and number 6. Its refreshing to see some cool Tech merchandise. Is it just me, or does Tech have some of the corniest T-shirts? There are exceptions, of course…most of the Nike and Under Armour stuff is pretty cool, but everything else….in general….is pretty tacky! Always has been! I remember walking into the Double T Shoppe or the other places on University or in the Student Center and not being able to find one thing I would want to wear. Everything would be in Zubaz print or have a Teddy Bear on it or have a Tommy Hilfiger or Luckenbach, Texas knock off-logo.

I actually think there are some really cool designs available at the different spirit shops. My problem is finding just one.

by Tech92 on Feb 19, 2010 8:39 AM CST up reply actions

Maybe they've gotten better now...

My impression is probably dated….been almost ten years since I’ve been to the spirit shops….but I just remember alot of really corny stuff, like a plaid double T on a navy blue sweatshirt….like something my dad would probably buy me for Christmas that I have to act excited about recieving, but in the back of my mind I know it’s going to sit in my closet for years until I donate it to the goodwill.

But combining 6 and 7 would look good. Under the DTN would be the web address for DTN and the flag on the back.

SARR and TTUMAR

I received TTUMAR’s email with the collaboration. I’ve never removed an option from a poll on DTN, so I don’t necessarily know what it would do to the results of the current poll, and rather than mess that up, is it okay with the two of you, I’ll put up the option of the two of you with one idea on the next round?

He discussed using the DT with an attorney way back, and he said the “hand” and the double T are public domain. I’m guessing that any non-trademarked double T would be in the public domain. He said “knock yourself out” using his design. I guess if that design makes the cut, I’ll buy him 1.

I love the idea of the six shooters on a shirt….. Any way we can get them to be shotguns?? I like the pirate them but since leach is gone we need to go back to out history and tradition of the “get your guns up!” slogan…. Guns would be cool!! Anyone agree/disagree?? Also….. Is there any way we can take the top five finalist and let people re-vote in order to get a clear winner and not have the outliers the other shirts are causing…. My vote was for #10

I vote for #12

Of course, it is my creation. The one drawing the most votes (#1) is kind of plain, but very traditional. The two with guns are nice, but I like option #11 better than option #10. If we get one with the silhouette of the raider rider, I prefer the one on my design. The other one which has been around a while, looks like he/she is about to fall off the horse, while mine is running hard with gun up….no pun intended. I also like the flag, but the pocket logo would still be better with my silhouette. But, if there is something placed on or above the pocket area, I think it should be simply “doubletnation.com”, with the pinstripes over and/or below the website line. As others have mentioned, a long-sleeved t-shirt would be OK. A Polo shirt would be nice for the games, or just flaunting the shirt at work or family/friend gatherings.

Hey Pilk-

can you rotate the guns up where the thumb is facing the other way? From this angle it looks as if he is holding his arm up with his forearm facing out, which would be a little unnatural. Or maybe its just me…

It is a tuff angle to tell....

I am assuming that he is in the act of bringing the gun down to fire at the bad guys,
if the thumb was facing the other way when he brings it down to fire it would be upside down.
While I understand that Hip-Hop Gang’stas shoot their guns every which way but straight up and down, Roy, the Duke and Clint held their guns like a proper Merican.
