Why wouldn't he?
Stoops and Leach may be pretty tight. I don’t know when that was scheduled, but either way, it is clear that the two gents are able to work together…they did spend some time at that while Leach was at OU. I would not be surprised if they were more than professionally associated.
Sometimes a river boat can out run a pirate ship.
Makes perfect sense he would
they accomplished great things together so why not go for it again. Once he’s “cleared” the pirate should definitely have something akin to the OU OC job or better.
oh god i hope not,
at least for that first part. stoops and leach together again…we’d never win against OU! ever! however, i’m all for mike getting another captain’s position somewhere. maybe he could turn around colorado’s program?

Blasphemous...wash that mouth out with soap.
Do you kiss your wife with that?

The Captain is a brilliant man.....

This is true.
Well… since you are talking about leaving your Tech loyalty far behind, I must inform you that Redbeard could kick blackbeard’s ass any day.haha
That reply might be a little short sighted....please tell me you don't
pull for OU when they play the eveil empire. As for MY tech loyalty….I honor the team, the heritage, the traditions, and hope that they win in the future. I have no loyalty to the administration AT ALL nor will I until such time an new one is in place and they prove they deserve my loyalty. I am second generation Red Raider and both of my kids are third generation Red Raider graduates. I don’t buy my red and black at Walmart. Please don’t talk to me about loyalty.
As for asswhippings, no one outside Lubbock would give me much of a chance, but fortunately I wll be in Lubbock at lot.(took that one from the Captain). and in the immortal words of Barry White, “Lets get it on”
"There's going to be ups and downs but you have to enjoy the battle." Mike Leach
1. I apologize for insulting your loyalty. I too despise the admin but still support the school. And that “I dont buy my red and black at Walmart” should be the new tagline.
2. I was speaking of the real pirates from olden days, not us haha so no, I respecfully decline to get it on.
That a friendly hat tip?
Or one of those “I’m gonna tip my hat and walk away, and dare you to say another word” hat tips? I know them both well but cant see them through text haha. I’m hoping friendly, so I tip my hat back. If unfriendly, well…. lets just say im not sayin another word.
friendly by all means
unless you are associated with the evil empire.

I was just going to say, that if I were JUST TECH
I’d never get to watch any March Madness……..EVER

Exactly
Now… during the CWS, it gets hard. I have met Augie Garrido and alot of the coaching staff, love those guys. Dont root for ’em or against ’em.
one of your drinkin buddies....
i suppose?

Leach would be good for Colorado
But it sure could be bad for us.

Leach to CU...
means we still won’t beat them.
Maybe their AD, Chancellor, BOR, etc. would be intelligent enough to keep him also.

good for him
He probably wants to stick it to the school that (deservedly and undeservedly)stuck it to him…. I see leach ending up somewhere on the east coast over the next year or so…. Maybe South Carolina, Vanderbilt, NC State, Miami, virginia, or even kentucky…. Hopefully he learns from his TTU experience..
Miami ... Yea that would work well for him...
He IS in Key West and Miami + Leach system
are both “counter establishment” …

Blackbeard ...
So say OU DOES pick up Mike Leach and you stand with your “I pull for the Captain. and I could give a rat’s ass what anyone thinks about that.” your actually going to cheer for OU against Tech? I understand your loyalties and the generations of Red Raiders, and respect that but don’t you think it’s a little wrong to cheer for a conference rival like that? I understand the ECU part, the last time we played them was in the ‘Galleryfurniture.com bowl’. With how much coaches come and go these days I just don’t understand your logic.
I mean it looks on here like you are pledging this undying loyalty to a guy who interviewed for another job during the bowl game break in what was one of our best seasons ever. To me that was a pretty clear indication he was looking elsewhere, how much loyalty can you devote to that? He is a great coach and a mastermind of the offensive game, but bottom line … If the big schools would have come calling he would have left Tech in a heartbeat. I just can’t bring myself to blindly becoming a fan of whatever squad he ends up on just because I don’t agree with our admin.
I can't speak for blackbeard
but I will be a fan of the team he winds up coaching. I won’t root for his team over Tech. Tech will always be my #1 team but Leach’s squad will be 1a. By all accounts the guy really liked Lubbock and loved coaching at Tech. But, if my bosses couldn’t stand me and were looking for any opportunity to fire me, I’d look around too. Job security is fleeting, especially if there are several folks in powerful positions frothing at the mouth to get rid of me. Who knows when I might slip up and they send me packing? Isn’t that what happened to Leach?
I respect the man for what he did for our football program and for doing things his way. He will always be one of my favorite coaches. I don’t see anything wrong with that.

What he said.
but mostly I admire anyone who will completely stand up for what they believe in. It give me a warm fuzzy to know that there are still some in this world who will do so regardless of the consequences. 1a it is.
