Pirate Captain on the Radio
Interesting comments on the 'star' recruiting system, coaching prospects, etc. Worth killing five minutes, even if the radio guy is a little annoying.

you gotta love this guy......
“We spend a lot of time trying to make sure everybody touches, make sure all the positions touch it and then after that figure out what a guy is best at and then channel the ball to that guy in the situations the best you can. I think that the thing that we do is really just try to break it down and capitalize on all our resources.”

If I'm with the captain I must throw safety out the window.
For the sake of it all.

I remember
We(6 of us) left Lubbock at 11 PM for an away game in Waco. Game at 2 PM on Sat. on TV. Drank all the way, pissed on the side of road looking at cows at 6 AM going into Waco, had breakfast and went to the game and watched Rodney Allison kick butt. Drove back to Lubbock and got in at Midnight. Now that was a Road Trip. I am surprised I am alive. Wreck EM!!!

Good catch !!
It was fun hearing ML talk again, he seemed pretty relaxed…I think he is chomp’in on the bit to get back to a team.
Maybe this is he year of renewal.
I perked up a bit with the dicussions about the new stuff they were talking about from UA 360 and how they were thinking about evaluating guys for their athletic ability, etc.
And I was surprised at his reply about stars…I remember him kind of always brushing the stars off as if they didn’t mean anything…then in this interview, he says that he likes to start with those rankings then make his own call.

It really was a fun listen.
God speed good Captain!

Great listen
Leach was on the verge of something great at Tech. All the negativity he felt and suffered through that was coming from the GOBs obviously had a bad effect on him and, ultimately, the team. Wherever he winds up, he will resume his career, starting at a point that will be much better than where he started at Tech, having learned a great deal as a head coach there. I also expect the school that hires him will be in the Southeast somewhere, probably in Florida. He will do some great things there and those of us who really appreciate how far he had gone as a head coach will be very happy for him. I look forward to watching from afar.

1 ΒΆ O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
