DTN T-Shirts :: Round Two
Congrats to ayleein for his first round victory as his t-shirt is the first place winner from last week's round one of voting. Here's the winning submission:
Round 2 is after the jump. Again, vote for your favorite, and keep in mind that we'll do 3 or 4 total shirts. Also, I've combined SARR and TTUMAR have combined forces so a couple of their submissions have been removed, giving you less options.
I'll be emailing ProBlogStores over the weekend to get the DTN t-shirt store up and running.
Same as last time, if I've missed a design, please let me know in the comments, shoot me an email or if I presented the wrong design, then I apologize in advance.
Option #1 - Tech Pirate
Ed: keep in mind we would have to purchase original artwork, but maybe this is something I can eventually get done.
Option #2 - TTUMAR
Option #3 - TTUMAR
Option #4 - redraidersax
Option #5 - TTUMAR and San Antonio Red Raider
Option #6 - saber
Option #7 - merrik
Option #8 - bmaxw
Option #9 - bmaxw
Option #10 - TTPilk645

I am compelled to pimp for votes for Raidersax's #4....
We had a back and forth about traditions…I think the walk suggested is cheesy because so many other schools do it. We can’t even come up with a name for it that doesn’t feel like wearing polyester pants.
Having said that, I have been throwing my guns up for 28 years…..and option # 4 immortalizes that. Thanks to trademark issues and our litigious society (get over it DTN law firm)…..this is the only option that anyone seeing it will automatically know that it is a Tech related shirt. Unlike someone on the boards, I think they are all great designs and I will have a few of each regardless. But when I think of Tech, I can look back at damn near 30 years of pictures and I am throwing my guns up….we deserve to have a shirt that captures this (fight song starts and an eagle flies over my head). Don’t make me have dead people vote…..or we will end up with (never mind this political diatribe).

As does #10
With our Red Raider riding the Mighty Balck Quarterhorse, leaning forward and showing his “Guns Up!”. My design—-My vote. My second choice would be#9, as it is cleaner and more powerful than #8. The rest are good, but I must go with my own design…just call me “Homer”……ha!
TTpilk Psalm 117:
1 ¶ O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
#10 if fine......
but I don’t automatically think of Tech when I see those guns and someone riding a horse.

I like the retro look too
this design would look sharp on an old worn out vintage t

I dont like this idea of a tshirt
its only going to advertise dtn to a bunch of uncontrolable yahoo’s. I loved the size of dtn before the leach firing, I can live with the size now. I just hope this doesn’t snowball!
You can decrease it by one.....

Yeah.....I'm the one talking about how great it use to be.....
You complain about having to go through non football threads and its fine if you find no social aspects to this. Next time you complain I will let the crickets chirp instead of responding.

Accept It and Enjoy It
I don’t mind the growth because in general it is the quality fans, grads, and students that continue to join and comment. It is not a foul mouth, trash talking, arrogant site like so many others. Because of that like Dallas, Houston, and austin, it will grow. Look at it this way, like any other successful enterprise, if you don’t grow, you die.

aren't we supposed to move on and look at the bright future?

This T-shirt idea (that apparently some do not like for it may grow the bogsite) will do much more
than advertise it to a bunch of uncontrollable yahoos. It will also raise funds for one of the most worthy causes I can think of. The bond, relationship, emotions, pride of parenthood make all the BS on this or any other sports related blog pale by comparison.
Besides, some of us uncontrollable yahoos don’t mind at all. Although I set my computer for this to be the first thing that opens, I am sure that one could (with the help of a teenager) arrange for this site to be completely blocked if one were of the mind to do so.
Further, I for one refuse to get into a pissing contest until at least 55 minutes after happy hour has commenced.

One more thing
I will enjoy wearing my shirts so I can meet in person other DTN fans of all generations. They make me feel young again. Bring on the shirts and help Seth become a Dad. Wreck Em!!!

I think...
- TTUMAR & SAR nailed it. Very classy looking. Nice work guys!

Wow…a pissing match over t-shirts possibly leading to site growth. We need a diversion. Like, I don’t know, football. Or another cool story about KWash’s drinking adventures.

Banana Nut for me
And at last look, I AM a MAN!
TTpilk Psalm 117:
1 ¶ O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
That's what Gundy thought too.

According to Seth
He hopes to have 3-to-5 T-Shirt designs to choose from. This would make for a very diverse and interesting gathering at the Spring game and during the season at some pre-game tailgates.
TTpilk Psalm 117:
1 ¶ O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
I voted for my own... BUT
I like Option #5. …. Nice. Clean. Great Design! ( I would buy it )
Some suggestions… insert a thin white border around the flag and DTN
This way we could purchase a Black or a Red T-Shirt.
Also, maybe use a different font than “papyrus”.
I don’t know which font, but maybe there is a more stellar font out there…
NCAA Football Grad. Rate: Texas Tech 79%, Baylor 78%, Oklahoma State 62%, Texas A&M 56%, Texas 50%, OU 46%
If these T-shirts could be printed on ...
shirts like the breath-able Under-Armor shirts.. that would be perfect.
NCAA Football Grad. Rate: Texas Tech 79%, Baylor 78%, Oklahoma State 62%, Texas A&M 56%, Texas 50%, OU 46%
So now that my favorite # 4 is getting killed.....
I am looking at the #5 of SARR and TTUMAR as my favorite……it would be more of a cost to put them on some dri fit material, but damn- how much dri fit material do you wear now? A lot.
An esoteric question….which one of these would make the best wife beater T (no offense, it’s the moniker).
