The Season Thus Far: OSU is .500 in the conference and they've stolen a game at Kansas St. and lost to Texas at home. Other than tose two, the Cowboys have held serve. Think back to the start of the Big 12 season in Texas Tech's first conference game and the Red Raiders were absolutely blown out. James Anderson had a field day against Texas Tech and if Texas Tech wants a different result, i.e. other than getting blown out, then someone is going to have to lock down Anderson and Muonelo.

Star-divide

The Main Players: This is really the "James Anderson Show" as he's been tremendous since the start of conference play. Although Shaw starts, don't look for him to play more than just a handful of minutes. In addition to Mounelo, look for Marshall Moses and Matt Pilgrim to get a bulk of the minutes inside.

Re-Focus on Defense: Earlier this week, Pat Knight said that he was going to work on rebounding and defense during this week since there weren't any games. PK mentioned that it's just effort rather than personnel. We'll see how true that is as the last time these two teams met, they were fairly even in rebounding, but Texas Tech couldn't guard the permiter to save their lives. OSU was 10 of 23 from the 3-point line, and I'd be willing to bet that although the team knew that Anderson was their best scorer and best player, they still let him go off for 5 of 8 from beyond the arc. If it's about effort, then we had better see a Texas Tech team that actually puts some pressure on the permiter players.

Sore Singletary: SF Mike Singletary was injured against the Aggies last week and has a bit of a bum shoulder, but LAJ's Courtney Linehan writes that Singletary should be able to play:

"(My shoulder is) just a little bit sore, but only because I haven’t done anything," Singletary said. "I’ve been out all week. I haven’t touched the basketball. I’ve had it in a sling. It’s just sore from that kind of stuff, but it’s muscle soreness. Everything else is good, from what the trainers tell me."

Singletary's play has been pretty good over the course of the last few games and the Red Raiders must continue to have a consistent scoring threat in Singletary and Roberson for anything to work inside.

Reduce Turnovers: The last time these two teams met, other than the fact that Texas Tech allowed OSU to shoot threes most of the afternoon was the fact that the Red Raiders had 21 turnovers for the game. And this was a complete collective effort by the team as no player had more than 3 turnovers for the game, but every player that logged a minute, other than freshman Mike Davis had at least one turnover. DT's Mike Graham talked with PG John Roberson and he feels that this team will be ready for the OSU pressure:

"I think we know what they’re going to try to do to us," Roberson said. "They kind of caught us off guard down there in Stillwater. I think we’re going to be ready for their defensive pressure, and we’ll have a lot of counters to what they have on defense."

Tommy Tuberville

looks just like the lawyer in the movie All the Pretty Horses, completely random but it made me laugh. And yeah, save the bleacher breaking for UT. I expect to see at least 10 go as we whoop that ass.

I'm calling this

a must win if we are going to have a halfway decent season. We will be playing too many teams that are better moving forward to not win this. PK, lets get this W today.
