Around SBN: Tiger Woods Makes His 2012 PGA Tour Debut

"The Bailey memo also stated, Dobrowski said, that university policy gave Leach the right to file a lawsuit seeking a temporary restraining order after he was suspended Dec. 28 "without fear of retaliation." Yet he accused Anders of recommending that Leach be fired if he filed a lawsuit."

Hance is a Slime Ball!

Kent Hance is a complete slime ball, and he is not worthy of the Tech institution. He’s a 2-bit politician that believes he is a powerful man. Unfortunatley, we also have a 2-bit B.O.R. that allows such a scumbag to maintain his role as Chancellor.

Until the Tech alumni decide that we can no longer afford to have such poor representation as “leadership” of this University, we will continue as a second-rate institution.

Hance and the B.O.R. are an absolute embarassment to TTU! Let’s fire them NOW!

Oh man. If only we could actually fire them.

Not to get political but…

Re-electing Perry almost assures that the BOR will stay in place.

I already voted against him in the primary. WIll do it again in the general election. Can we start an anti-Perry campaign?

GOOD!

Finally, something is going to be decided. I have no doubt the University is going to be soundly defeated in this, trial or no trial. What MUST happen once a verdict is rendered is somehow the persons responsible for this dragging of Tech’s name and Mike Leach through the dirt must be severely dealt with in a way no one will ever try this again…not at Tech. It is one thing to rid a school of a person or personality that is not wanted, but it is another to lie, cheat and destroy that person with premeditation, hate and vile actions. This will leave Tech with a big black eye, and it will take a while, maybe a long while, for it to all be washed away. To begin with three things need to be done: The start is to settle with Leach. The second is to fire Hance, Myers and Bailey. Lastly, sever relations with Anders and a few other dirty board members. Tech does not need to be associated with scum like that, no matter their wealth. Then, and only then can Texas Tech move forward with its head in the air and not tucked between its legs.

1 ¶ O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.

Pilk - I agree with your steps...

However, I’m developing a little more sympathy for Bailey… his recommendation seemed reasonable, but the other power forces involved didn’t want to be reasonable…

by Houston Raider on Mar 13, 2010 11:32 AM CST up reply actions

I started to feel the same

But then I wondered why he didn’t stand his ground. As reported, the BoR is not suppossed to be able to push the President around on something like this. He basically caved rather than do what he thought was right.

Agreed. That seems to be the point of failure for him...

I’m just relieved that someone in this whole mess at least had a few reasonable thoughts/ recommendations… To some extent, it helps more clearly demonstrate the motives & positions of those who pushed this through to its eventual end… There was a recommendation from the executive in charge, but it was foregone for other purposes…

by Houston Raider on Mar 13, 2010 12:38 PM CST up reply actions

Agreed

Looks like he was the only one that didn’t go ape-shit just because Craig James issued an order. Or more likely, the only one who didn’t see it as an opportunity to settle some old grudges.

Larry Anders

The Board Chairman who recommended firing Leach when Bailey only wanted a reprimand….. Doesn’t he live in Midland?

I think he lives in Dallas.

Mickey L. Long is the one who lives in Midland and, to be honest, I’ve don’t recall ever having heard his name specifically dropped in any of the emails/news/rumors in this whole fiasco.

by Damien Franco on Mar 12, 2010 10:35 PM CST up reply actions

Remember, however, it was reported that

the bor voted unanimously to fire Mike. That would include mickey long.

He knows his fans here love him…well most of ’em do anyway.
