Around SBN: The Worst Team Ever Projected?

I've got to work on some things this morning that will preclude me from getting any commentary on the revelations from yesterday's deposition of Mike Leach.

LondonRaider with two FanShots (one and two). Pretty good coverage from the LAJ's Matthew Mcgowan as both sides are claiming they have a leg up on the other. I'd also point you to the DT's Alex Ybarra, who apparently is staying in Lubbock for spring break just to cover the story. Alex should be passed out on a beach somewhere, but he's working. Kudos.

Finally, here's DTN's story on Mike Leach videos after the Kansas and Baylor games. Continue to comment here and imisswesttexas pondered, as did I yesterday as to the fact that there were only so many people that knew about those videos, I'd be curious as to how specific that Chip Brown's application for the Freedom of Information Act actually was and I'd also like for someone to ask him how he found out about those videos.

For those of you who would like to completely ignore everything Texas Tech for a good five minutes, check out this video, which is a tilt-shift video of New York City. It is completely safe for work and I thought it was neat. That's right, I said, neat.

Loved the video too

My son has lived in NYC the last 3 years & is moving back to Texas next week. Glad to have him & his wife closer but I will miss visiting the big apple.

Stunned

I’m amazed at how low the administration at Tech will stoop with Leach. He put us on the map as a program. I consider him the godfather of the modern spread that everyone runs now. We were an up-and-down conference until Leach, Stoops, & Brown came along.

My hope is that the school will do the right thing & take care of him, period. Myers contract is up in July & surely the schools knows not to renew it but with Myers stating that he’s keeping PK on I’m worried that he’s stretching himself out further.

If Myers doesn’t come back, then a new AD can make the change in both men’s/women’s basketball coaches along with forging a continued future of success with Tubs @ the helm.

I want our school to do the right thing so Mike can move on & hopefully get a kick ass job in 2011 somewhere. I really would love to see Colorado hire him so we can have our Tech (err, Troy) offense go against his Buffaloes offense and we’d get to continue to watch Mike have success somewhere else.

Sad commentary

The administration’s position is out of step with current employee vice employer legal standings and positions. I am no lawyer. But the commonsense factor is not in play here. Even the man on the street- we put those judges in the seat btw – knows an employee (Leach) gets to be heard and show proof. All shenanigans aside the university – lower caps on purpose – is going to need to settle. They don’t need any more late night revelations illuminating their inability to deal in fair manner, employee law violations and collusion with outsiders unduly bending their own "fairness " rules to get rid of the costly employee. It would appear they simply were looking for the trigger – the James incident – to initiate the firing ambush. It’s a sad commentary on folks who are lauded as models of fairness. Can anyone tell me why they don’t just cut their losses? Are we so egotistical that we can’t admit a mistake? It reminds me of the Used card department at the local "Chevy" dealership in pohdunk USA – trying to take back a car after their drunk credit clerk fails to send the account data to the customer. What we didn’t send the invoice or action the change of address procedures!?! Well we can’t admit that. Just repossess the car Goober. The customer won’t sue us. Ever.

GOOD POINT

I know it is lame for me to claim I am making a good point, but trust me I am.

Texas Tech Athletics has removed DOZENS of videos from youtube in the past that showed post game and locker room video. They claimed that they were copyrighted and thus were promptly removed by youtube… now that there is something to use to their advantage, they are letting them stay out there! I call lame/setup!
