I can't stop reading the comments by Adam James...

Liggett said Adam James testified that he thought being placed in the shed on Dec. 17 “was funny.” The younger James also testified that he “felt no threat of physical harm, and he didn’t think that a coach should be fired for the incident that took place on Dec. 17 ,"

Did we just witness the kid grow a pair, and pretty much call his old man a liar in a case where dads professional reputation is on the line?

Wonder if ESPN has enough sack to cover this one.

What you just witnessed is a jerkwad kid with an inbred sense of entitlement thinking

getting the best coach Tech ever had fired for absolutely no legitimate reason at all is “no biggie” and funny. He wouldn’t know a pair if they slaped him in the face (which may be how he got the concussion).

I was thinking about Leach's lawyer and the Adam James quote...

Leggit was the same guy who claimed that the doctors said placing James in the shed “helped him.” When I heard that, I thought, “You’ve got to be kidding me, there’s no way the doctor said that.” Sure enough, Leggit was exaggerating.

I wonder if he’s exaggerating the James quotation here, too. I assume there’s no transcript of the testimony yet?

I see your point and it makes sense.

Dad may have taken the whole thing over the top, inspite of what his son may have thought. What happened between the two of them may be as enlightening as what any of the others may have said in their testimonies.

If what he is quoted to have said is accurate, then how did dad get to the point of thinking there was such danger for his son….that he would demand the university that someone, anyone, be fired.

OMG... that's not a real quotation is it?

Tell me you made that crap up. I have to say that this goes in Leach’s favor.

After this is over...

I hope Leach goes after the James Gang and ESPiN.

He’ll double his bounty!

So… what is the university’s case now?

I don’t know what the University’s case is now. But I do know that the University lawyers are still fighting about the whole “Brain injury” thing. However, that doesn’t really help their case if they fired Mike Leach for “insubordination”. The Tech lawyers themselves even say that the whole “electrical closet” thing is irrelevant to the case.

If this does go to trial though, I’m willing to bet it will be an unanimous vote in Leach’s favor. The only way it couldn’t is if they put a few ESPN broadcasters on the jury.

Instead of continuing to give black eyes to Texas Tech & West Texas in general

The clowns in charge should just settle this now by paying Coach Leach the balance of his contract & issue a public statement thanking him for ten years of on & off the field success. They’ll never convince the public that what they did was right or even wise. You would think they would admit this to themselves & want to put the whole fiasco behind them & move on.

Tech is gonna fight this all the way

only just to lose their ass in court and embarass themselves even more on the national scale.

but...

if they lose a buttload of money in court, it’ll be that much easier to put the screws to the powers that be and run their butts out of town… or at least that’s the hope

No $10,000,000

Gerald’s head is not worth that much.

have been away from dtn for a few days for a quick vacation and am catching up on all of the depo info. friend who represents tech still thinks they have a legitimate chance at sovereign immunity. i know it’s all spin-doctoring on the part of the attorneys, but i would hate to see leach lose this on a technicality. his only recourse would be a civil suit against the james’.
