A nationally televised game on ESPN on the Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. Sweet!

A lot of pressure.
First game.
Brand new coach.
SMU could be tough.
Sunday instead of Saturday.
Televised.
I just hope we are prepared and ready.

I think that there will be a small crowd
Lots of students will be out of town as this is in the middle of a three day weekend! Too bad… but even still football is football!
The James Bowl
The match up of the two programs that Craig James had a hand in ruining. Could have great tabloid potential. Might as well compete with the NFL on Sunday. Leach’s suit against Craig James will probably be filed that weekend too.

Cool. Now I can get rid of my Tivo'd
program on Prarie Dogs, and just record the game.

TTU is set up to be the only college game nationally.
It is good from that perspective. A lot of students will be on holiday, but those who are in town have a long week end of partying to enjoy.
I can see having a lot of fun at the tail gates as well…an extra day to prepare or an extra day to play.
SMU on our turf, they will have their hands full. I expect the Red Raiders to be ready to play. The new staff are going to be keen to get the home opener and their first game as TTU staff in the books as a W.

I don't think the number of students that attend will be that different on Sunday afternoon versus the previously scheduled Saturday night....
perhaps more, it gives them
12 more hours to buy a tie.
