My post-game thoughts
Whew...glad thats over
That was a sloopy first half of the game guys. But our boys stuck with it and pulled out the W. I went to the game so here are my thoughts.
The Story: We were cold in the 1st half. Jacksonville jumped out to 8-0 lead in the first 1:40 of the game. Our guys couldnt get shots to fall. It was 17-6 at one point of the game. Thats when reese started to heat up, sinking 3-three pointers, in the first half. JU was getting rebounds and were executing their offense with ease. We went into half-time down by 6. I was thinking "Man, we cant win if we play like this into the 2nd half if." The half starts and we start getting after it. Reese was still making shots, THEN singletary and roberson woke up and starting contributing. JU seemed to have gotten into a funk for much of the second half. There shots werent falling and didnt rebound as much in the second half. Theere was A LOT of missed and bad ref calls in the game. Tech was getting the short end of the stick for much of the game when it came to fouls. But our guys fought it through to get a W. Defense was much better in the second half. We got more boards than JU and we got some turnovers too. A ugly win but yeah..we would have looked bad on TV...good thing they didnt broadcast it. Our bigger guys didnt play much because we couldnt match up with their smaller, faster guys.
Game MVP: Brad Reese: He had a double-double this game, the very frist double double of his career
We have to play better than this if we wanna win in Oxford come tuesday.

Thanks wrench...
The only bright spot for me was that I had to work anyway and couldn’t have seen it if it was televised. Glad we left with a W. Are we playin the Rebs or that Star Wars dude?

I followed on the internet
I got the same feeling as W_R reported. Roberts was better in the second half, along with Roberson and Singletary. As mentioned by others, they need to play much better in Oxford to win. Otherwise, the NIT experience will end there. One more win and they get to the final four of the NIT in NEW YORK, after getting into the “Elite Eight” against Ole Miss on Tuesday in Oxford. One thing is for sure, the team seems to be more hungry and more focused, despite the low percentage of shots made, than they were during the whole of conference play. I know this definitely means we will probably have Junior here for at least two more years, but no matter the outcome Tuesday, the team returns a good nucleus next year. If the incoming class can match what Tech loses with graduation, a 20-win regular season is almost certain.

is there a bar or restaurant in temple that would be a good place to watch the game tuesday?
