We are really getting after them aren’t we ?

35-53 or so ???

It must be the high altitude...

or maybe we should call it a Knight… and get a new coach.

Right on

"But we NEED this win"

BULL! If they really believed in that they would not have gone almost half of the game of not scoring. What do they do, stand around offense AND defense. Just awful, and not what I have come to expect from Texas Tech basketball. Also, the women are just as bad. It has all been said before, so I will not get into the NEED-TOs.

So, who won the T-Shirt contest???…..ours, not the one at the Yellow Rose.

Which, unfortunately

Is nothing for them to brag about. Hopefully, brighter days, and Knights (ha) are on the horizon and we can “Curry” (Ha,ha) some wins.

I will buy ! Recommending Clan MacGregor in a glass of ice...the size of the glass is up to you.

I am not looking at win loses, but recruiting. The Ladies are building depth, the men are not. It is not very complex and not very detailed as an analysis, simple program building.

Yes I agree

I think the Lady Raiders could be the Men tomorrow afternoon w/o refs.

well, considering

the lady raiders are the only ones with a nat’l championship; i’d say not only are they better in the long run, but they could definitely put a beat down on the men… i mean, these girls are tough. I would almost go to say they could take a punch and still go on playing….

everyone has given up on this team. The coach and players have no heart to keep playing. Forget the lack of offence and defense, this group is done. Write and email the school to for go the big 12 tournament. On a different note, I gave my got Knight shirt to Goodwill. Maybe someone else will want Knight. Pat and his dad are great division 2 or 3 coaches.

At least we have hope with the softball team and baseball team.

Abject Failure!!!

On Janurary 3, 2010, Texas Tech was 12 – 2 and ranked #21 in the country with some great wins over well-respected teams from prominent conferences.

With today’s gutless performance against Colorado, hardly a team to be reckoned with, Tech finishes their season 16 – 14, with no chance of either the NCAA or NIT tournaments.

Tech went from 12 – 2 and closed the season 4 – 12 with many lopsided losses – some as much as 30 points. Why did this happen?

Certainly Tech does not have the quality of athletes that the other Big 12 schools have, but moslty, this team quit on a coach who’s only qualified for a D-II school.

Bobby Knight still runs Gerald Myers, and that’s why there’s been no mention of firing Pat on-the-spot. Except for football, does anyone feel that Tech athletics – men or women – is heading in the right direction?

Tech has a buffoon for a Chancellor, a circus for a BOR, and a joke of an athletic director, not to mention having an inept basketball coach.

Tech BB sucks, and will until there’s a change. Has Gerald Myers even heard of Billy Gillespie? Probably not. And therein lies the problem!

The question is

Has Gerald Myers ever known a basketball coach including himself? Ah, NO.

Softball seems to be going in a good direction. I do not follow this sport, they are currently 17-2…

Track program is strong, with a number of nationally ranked participants, both men and women. Last couple of years we have had the national title in a women’s distance event. Men are ranked 7 and women 23.

Men’s tennis is ranked 18.

I have already indicated a good direction for women’s basketball based on recruiting.

I have a similar sense about baseball…new coach looks to be a program leader / winnner.

There is a lot of good going on with TTU athletics…there is a lot of room for improvement as well.

I dont really think that we were "out athleted" by CU.

Outcoached maybe. Letting the backside screen work 20 or more times in a game is junior high at best.

I honestly have never been a big hoops guy.

In fact the 5 games I attended this year is my all time record including undergrad. So I have no frame of reference in which to gauge the squad’s history. What I can tell you is what the local media are saying. In their opinion, even though we have sucked mightily, they point out that we have improved over last year. In their eyes, that is a step forward, even if not a big enough step for many, and is reason to give Pat one more year to prove he has us headed back to the post season. Again, not my view, I have no dog in the hunt.

I can see the improvement over last season.

What I see is the games outside of Big12, the men played much better in those games. They do struggle in Big12 play.

Improved?

You don’t give a coach another year when his team goes from being 12 – 2 and ranked #21 to finish 4 – 12 and close out at 16 – 14! That’s the WRONG direction. Tech BB sucks, and will, until PK is gone!

by MerkMusic on Mar 6, 2010 7:54 PM CST reply actions

yea....

after beating teams like Washington early in the semester, then going and losing to teams like Colorado… this team needs a new coach. You’d think with Meyers’ basketball history he would be paying more attention, and have much higher standards for his coach. I guess though, if Knight won 66% of his games and made the post-season every year, just got his best recruiting class ever, was well respected throughout his sports’ community and loved by his fans, then he would be fired, because that’s what meyers does. But since Knight doesn’t really meet any of those standards i guess he can stay after all.
