Per Tubs

One guy will start at QB and “we’ll have the other guy come out of the bullpen.” Sounds a lot like a two QB system.

Again

This is what Florida did with Tebow his freshman year to get him ready to become the starter for the next three years. Chris Leak played outside the redzone, and Tebow was brought in on occasion to play inside the redzone.

Granted, our situation is different (we wouldn’t be grooming a QB for the future…or would we), but what happened in Florida is proof that a two QB system can work (this was the first year they won the NC under Meyer).

I got that also

Sounded like he will have a starter but keep the other guy very close in case we have another 2009 start.

Sounds to me as if

there is going to be a starter and a finisher….bull pen guys finish, either as a save or as a win.

Or he could just be saying there is going to be a 1, 2.

Tu-B-er-ville

Someone needs to get a copy of the Katfish contract to the DT. We aren’t living up to our end of the bargain if we can’t spell his name correctly.

RUFFIN'S FIRST SCRIMMAGE FINALE

Ruffin McNeil completed his first Spring practice sessions at ECU as his team is taking to the new offense and defense very well. Here’s hoping he does well there.

ECU’s passing attack produced a 40-of-71, 354-yard and three touchdown performance from quarterbacks Brad Wornick, Rio Johnson and Josh Jordan, while a surging and blitzing defense was credited with 11 sacks and forced two turnovers.
In all, the Pirate offense accounted for four touchdowns – 16 and 10-yard receptions by sophomore Andrew Bodenheimer, a 48-yard catch by senior Javon Brumsey and an 11-yard run by redshirt freshman Michael Dobson.

I think I read that

ECU was replacing more starters than just about anyone in the country. I hope that McNeill and Riley do well, but it may take at least a year.

They're also...

in the lead for the Fulmer Cup (most player arrests) for anyone who reads Everyday Should Be Saturday.

They might be replacing many more soon.

“Blitzing is part of our defensive scheme and we will continue to work on some packages for that,” McNeill said. “I feel we have the athletes to do that. That will, in turn, make our offense better since they will have seen these things in practice every day.”

ECU is interesting to watch simply to see what McNeill will do as HC regarding defensive philosophy…there are insights to be gained…

Since when does Ruff run a blitzing, attacking defense?
