Well, if they are eventually going to 16, we may not get an invite next time.

I like this Utah governor guy...

Coulda-shoulda-woulda
Had the PAC-10 (12) made an open offer to Tech and withdrawn their offers to all remaining BIG-12 (10) schools, We Tech fans would be partying and the UT fans would be shooting up to try and forget this. Utah would not have had a chance to be a PAC-10 (12) member is this case. But, here we are, with Tech still on a leash with UT controlling our movements. I know the super-16 conferences will soon be here, so Tech still could become a part of the PAC-10 (12) at that time. If the PAC 10 (12) is smart, they will ignore anything UT says or wants to say.
However, with the advent of 16-member conferences, it will become apparent that what is really needed is a playoff system, which could still happen if there a several 16-member conferences. It could happen before those 16-member conferences can take hold. When to powers that be finally put the figures down, they will realize just how much more can be made by everyone if there were a playoff for the national title. It is inevitable that there will be a playoff, where any of the 120-member NCAA will be eligible to win the title. All a team needs to do is WIN, especially at the most important time, the final few games of the season. I just hope I will be around then to see something occur that is way past due.
TTpilk Psalm 117:
1 ΒΆ O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
How is Utah significantly better than Texas Tech?
And inviting Texas Tech destroys the Big 12, which potentially gets you additional very good leftovers.
