Top 10 Games in the Mike Leach Era

Mike Leach coached 127 games at Texas Tech from 2000 to 2009, winning 84 and losing 43.  Texas Tech was 47-33 in conference during that time, never had a losing season, had 8 seasons of 8 or more wins, was bowl eligible every season, and was 6-4 in those bowl games.  Mike Leach is the winningest coach in Texas Tech football history, both in regular season and post-season play.  Let's take a look back at 10 great games from the last 10 years.

Star-divide

10.  Texas Tech vs. Kansas State (October 15, 2005)

Result:  59-20

Synopsis:  Texas Tech (#11) dominated this game.  Cody Hodges threw for almost 650 yards and 5 TDs.  He ended up leaving the game with about 5 minutes remaining, which was odd for Leach.  Taurean Henderson became the NCAA leader for receptions by a running back early in the game.  The best part about this game was the two forced fumbles caused by Dwayne Slay.

Why it was great: This win over Kansas State gave Texas Tech its highest ranking under Mike Leach until the 2008 season (#8) and its best start (6-0) in the Mike Leach era.  They would lose the following week to Texas.  Dwayne Slay's individual performance was also outstanding - he went on that year to set a new Big 12 record for forced fumbles in a single season (8).

9. Texas Tech vs. Texas (November 16, 2002)

Result: 42-38

Synopsis: Texas Tech and Kliff Kingsbury had to come from behind in this one.  After a Tech fumbled inside their own 30, Texas took it back in two plays for a TD.  About 10 minutes later, Texas drove the length of the field and scored again.  Things weren't looking so hot.  Finally the offense exploded the second quarter to the tune of 21 points to leave things all tied up at half-time. Things remained tied going into the fourth, when Texas traded a field goal for Tech's touchdown and Tech finally took the lead.  Tech then got a key interception by Ryan Aycock which allowed them to run out the clock.

Why it was great: At this point, #9 Texas was the highest ranked team Tech had ever beaten.  This victory was a total shock at the time.  This was Texas Tech's first win over a top 10 opponent under Mike Leach, and one of two wins over the University of Texas.

8. Texas Tech vs. Nebraska (October 9, 2004)

Result: 70-10

Synopsis: Texas Tech came out firing, rolling to a 21-3 lead at halftime.  The Cornhuskers scored their first touchdown on the third play of the third quarter and were threatening to get back in the game, but that was not to be.  Sunnie Cumbie completed 15 straight passes starting in the second half on the way to scoring the next 49 points.  Nebraska pulled their starting QB near the end of the third quarter in favor of a true freshman who threw four interceptions and lost a fumble.

Why it was great: The lowly Red Raiders dominated and wrecked a traditional power in a way that neither side would soon forget.  This was the first time Texas Tech had beaten Nebraska in its previous 8 match-ups, and also the most points scored against a Big 12 opponent under Mike Leach.  The Red Raiders handed the Cornhuskers their worst loss in the school's history.  Additionally, 70 points was the most ever given up by Nebraska, a team more known for its outstanding defensive play and "black shirts".

7. Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma (November 17, 2007)

Result: 34-27

Synopsis: After knocking Sam Bradford out of the game after the Sooner's second possession, things began going very badly for Oklahoma.  Personal fouls and an aggressive Tech defense caused them problems all night in front of a raucous crowd at the Jones.   Texas Tech pulled away to a 27-10 lead at halftime, and took a 34-10 lead a few minutes into the third.  The Sooners came alive in the fourth quarter, but by then it was too late.  After they scored their final TD with 30 seconds to go, Texas Tech recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal the victory.

Why it was great:  Another top 5 team goes down to the Red Raiders.   In addition, it knocked the Sooners out of the contention for the national championship game.  Like the Texas game in 2008, Oklahoma came on strong in the second half, however this time it was the Tech defense that shut down the comeback.  Graham Harrell also achieved 5,000 yards passing for the season in this game.  The drama and fear of a comeback made this game a nailbiter.

6. Texas Tech vs. California (December 30, 2004)

Result: 45-31

Synopsis: Texas Tech came out red hot in their first ever Holiday bowl against #4 California.  After trading blows with California early the Red Raiders blew the game open by scoring 24 unanswered points.  Sunnie Cumbie had 250 yards passing in the second quarter alone, and ended the day with 520 yards passing.

Why it was great:  This was Texas Tech's first big out of conference win under Mike Leach, first win with large national exposure, and second win over a top 5 opponent.

5. Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State (November 8, 2008)

Result: 56-20

Synopsis:  After the historic victory over #1 Texas, there was expectation that the Red Raiders might come out flat against #9 Oklahoma State.  That expectation was quickly laid to rest as the Red Raiders scored 28 points in the first half to lead Oklahoma State 28-14.  The much vaunted "duel" between Michael Crabtree and Dez Bryant became equally lobsided as Bryant was held without a catch until the last moments of the first half, and without a touchdown for the game.  Crabtree managed to chip in for three touchdowns in the 56-20 route which proved that Tech's victory over Texas was not a fluke.

Why it was great:  During those first three weeks of November, Texas Tech football was on top of the world.  There were real expectations that this could be the year that Texas Tech won it all.  With this game the team cemented those expectations and proved they could handle the success (at least up until that point).

4. Texas Tech vs. Texas A&M (October 5, 2002)

Result: 48-47 (OT)

Synopsis: The score going into the 4th quarter at Kyle Field was 17-35 in favor of A&M at Kyle Field.  Kliff Kingsbury, Wes Welker, and Taurean Henderson then put together a terrific comeback and scored three touchdowns to one for A&M.  Though A&M broke the then-Big 12 record for touchdown passes in this game (7), they missed a crucial extra point with just over a minute to play which would have given them a 4 point lead.  It was 38-41.  Tech kicked a field goal to tie the game as time expired.  In overtime, A&M got the ball first and scored a TD - but again missed the extra point.  Kingsbury found Nehemiah Glover in the endzone and made the extra point to seal the victory.

Why it was great:  This was Texas Tech's first time to beat A&M in College Station since 1996.  Additionally it was one of the first times the ability of Texas Tech's offense to recover from large deficits was realized (18 points), and it was done in overtime.

3. Texas Tech vs. Virginia (January 1, 2008)

Result: 31-28

Synopsis: Texas Tech got off to a good start with a TD early in the first quarter, but then went completely flat until a third of the way into the 3rd quarter.  Graham Harrell especially came out poorly with a string of mental errors in the first half, including two safeties due to illegal grounding in the endzone.  For all their bad play, however, Texas Tech was only down 7-21 at the half.  The Red Raiders came out strong in the second half, overcoming a 14-point deficit with two seconds remaining  to win the game with an Alex Trlica field goal.

Why it was great:  This was yet another great Red Raider comeback, plus in this game we saw the beginnings of what the 2008 team could be.  The team showed the same kind of grit they showed in the 2006 Insight Bowl.

2. Texas Tech vs. Minnesota (December 29, 2006)

Result: 44-41 (OT)

Synopsis: The Red Raiders spotted Minnesota 38 points (7-38) in the 2006 Insight Bowl with 7:47 remaining in the third quarter before mounting the greatest bowl game comeback in history.  Texas Tech scored 31 unanswered points and tied the game as time ran out with a 52-yard Alex Trlica field goal.  In overtime, Minnesota managed only a field goal while Texas Tech scored a TD on a five play drive for the win.  Minnesota coach Glen Mason was let go following the collapse.

Why it was great:  In case you missed it in the synopsis, this was the greatest bowl game comeback ever.  The heart and will that was displayed by the Tech players was tremendous.  Graham Harrell, who had had a rough and contentious first season starting at QB, showed how he could lead the offense in this game.

1. Texas Tech vs. Texas (November 1, 2008)

Result: 39-33

Synopsis:  For a week beforehand, Lubbock was buzzing about this game between two undefeated teams.  Students camped out in front of the stadium in "Raiderville" for the entire week.  When the game began, the energy was incredible.  The Red Raiders dominated the first half, winding up 22-6, and left Texas reeling.  Texas eventually woke up after the half and came back on a number of big plays including a return by Jordan Shipley and a long 91-yard passing TD by Colt McCoy and eventually took the lead 32-33 with 1:29 remaining.  Then Graham Harrell put the final polish on his legendary Texas Tech career by executing a 62-yard drive which culminated in "The Catch" and gave Texas Tech the win.

Why it was great:  The finish, the performances, and the high stakes make this the best game of the last decade.  It kept Tech's undefeated season alive, made "Michael Crabtree" and "Graham Harrell" names that people around the country knew, not just followers of the Big 12, and gave us one of the greatest finishes ever.  Unlike the 2005 season when Tech reached #8 before falling to Texas, this time they go to go on through to the next round and became a solid #2 team with support for the #1 spot.

Thanks for the memories

Well worth going back to view again. And reason to look ahead with high expectations that more amazing games are in store for Texas Tech.

Awesome. Thank you for this. I have memories of every one of these games.

10. I was in the student section and remembered how dominate slay was. He won the game. We had 22 guys start that game. 1 of them won it.

9. I was in the student section endzone for this one. I remember that a few games before it had become policy to not run on the field. This was the first game that I remember all of the bleachers coming up and being passed to the front. It was crazy. Kingsbury directed the band. Amazing.

8. Painted up on the front row for this one and got on TV. We spelled “eat some corn”. Boy did we ever.

7. This one was big, although I’d say not as big as the one before it in 2005 where there were 3 reviews on the last drive and taurean scored at the end. A billboard had to be put up to prove he wasn’t down. Fantastic game.

6. Joel Filani. Done. Watched this in a basement with some friend in their rich parents house. Everyone was going nuts. Great times.

5. This was the letdown that never happened. In a test of the big 12’s #2 all time over rated team (OSU is a close second to the aggies, the darkhorse every year) vs. its #1 most under rated team (#3 in wins since 2000 and picked last all the time), we destroyed. Pure fun to watch.

4. Welker, welker, welker. Absolute gem. Although I was on the second row for the Robert Johnson catch, this might have been an even better game. Awesome.

3. Watched this one in a bar in NY for the first half. We were so pissed we left and went up to the hotel. We ended up realizing we were coming back and about 8 of us yelled at the tv for 30 minutes in a tiny NY hotel room. Greatness.

2. Was at a bar in Dallas and about 10 of us were watching the game with another 100 people just there to party and indifferent. We all stopped watching until midway through the third quarter when we noticed we were making a comeback. At that point it was shots and pitchers every score. The whole bar ended up rooting for us b/c it was so crazy. By the end I’m pretty sure I was riding an imaginary horse around the bar screaming the fight song. Maybe my favorite game. So amazing. And Leach’s speech at halftime is perfect. Will always miss that guy.

1. First time I cried at a football game. My wife was converted to a lifelong fan for this game alone. Raiderville the night before. Partying till 3 AM the night BEFORE the game. Getting back up to the stadium at about 9:00 and partying all day. First time I saw people on tops of cars with beers in their hands going up and down university high fiving cops. The night was electric and I will never forget it.

Thank you MIke Leach. My college experience related to football was amazing and all because of you. Screw the haters, you made me a superfan and I will always love you for it. Absolutely my favorite coach ever. Sometimes a pirate can beat a soldier.

THAT IS PASSION

The type passion no other coach in Tech history, maybe never again, can or will ever match. Leach, because of all the reasons those dumbxxxxs wanted him gone, was the main reason Texas Tech became a NATIONAL TREASURE. People all over the country became aware of Texas Tech and many of them also became fans. He, his coaching style, his play calling and, most importantly, his overachieving players caused the amazing growth in Texas Tech pride over the last decade. Having been a fan since E.J. Holub was there, I know of no other time over that period where there was so much electricity in the air week after week. The closest Tech came to being known everywhere prior to Leach was the Steve Sloan era. It was very short-lived, so the momentum it started never fully developed as it did during Leach’s 10-year tenure. Logan5555 is feeling the PASSION! Now, it is time for that PASSION to EXPLODE! That means staying with the exciting offense and melding it with an equally exciting defense. GO TECH!

My favorite part of that halftime speech was when he said (paraphrasing), “are you gonna give up and say it was too hard or too difficult, or are you gonna be like all those other teams that came back from adversity and won. I can think of a number of times when Tech had the fight to come from behind and win… etc etc etc”. Leach was the man. The old farts who can’t see past Leach’s quirky personality are selling themselves short. The guy loved football and loved to win. He wanted it so bad that he probably never was the same after the OU game in 2008. It wasn’t quite Finkel and Einhorn (ace ventura) but it was pretty bad. The dude wanted it worse than the players on the team. You have to have that hungry coach. I hope tubs is that hungry as well b/c we need it. I didn’t just spend $800 for season tickets to watch someone who is already full…

Great insight on the OU 08 meltdown, he really wanst the same after that, it bled so bad that it got us beat by Ole Miss a month and a half later. I thought at that point the school had saved several hundred thousand dollars in the contract negotiations but sure enough the ego was still there fighting.

A buddy of mine alyways said that when Harrel got the “gogley eyes” we were in trouble, that night Harrell and Leach both got the googley eyes and were totally rattled

I thought Aggies were top 5 in 1996 when Zach had his interception TD?

14-7 – That was the greatest Tech victory before the Leach era. That and a 1989 comeback win in Austin with a 4th and 26 touchdown pass to win the game.

But the Leach era was magic. We were finally eating at the grownups table rather than taking the scraps where we could get them.

Cal

It was certainly a huge OOC victory, but I think the two wins over Ole Miss-with Eli Manning-are pretty noteworthy as well. 01-03 had pretty brutal OOC schedules NCSU led by Phillip Rivers and Ohio State as well

Aggies

Most of all Leach should get full credit for totally dismanteling the aggie program. Those games became so exicting that the aggies started to question their own method of playing tradional huddle up football and it tore their idenity apart for at least a decade.

I bought a copy through iTunes. 2008 season Game of the Week that week. I would have bought the next week’s game against Xerox State, but alas that didn’t make the game of the week.

I was going to post that game as an honorable mention. My first away game as a student…. What a well played game and a dramatic ending… That final touchdown catch just shut the crowd up… it was just epic.

Highlights:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiBFESVX4FE

.
.
Another honorable mention in my books:

September 19, 2005
OU: 21 Tech: 23

This was one of those games that ended in a controversial call… and two in this case. One was a first down by Danny Amendola (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI0ec11sVvk) and the other the final touchdown by Taurean Henderson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10L-zyCaHGA). This game was just a straight forward nail biter. Both teams kept going back and forth the entire game scoring. Tech finally scored at the beginning of the 4th to get ahead 7-17, only to then give up two touchdown to OU with 1:33 left, making the score 21:17. Tech then marched down the field, as was similar to the ’08 UT game, and scored with time expiring. Barring that OU was unranked and we were, this is still a significant game in my book. The OU/Tech rivalry is still one of the most bitter in my book, especially since the ’08 season.

Both of those, and also the Nebraska game from 2008 (which shouldn’t have been close, but was) are honorable mentions for me as well. Overtime win on an interception and we end up winning largely because of a 4th and 4 that goes for 47 yards? Wow.

Nebraska 2004 wasn't bad

I drove from Dallas to Omaha for that one. Tech was down in the final minute driving towards a score when they threw an interception. The Nebrska defender took 3 steps & dropped the ball & Tech recovered. 3 or 4 plays later Tech scores as the gun sounds & beats Nebraska for the 1st time. Looking back through 4 wins in a row over Nebraska that doesn’t seem like such a big deal, but at the time it really was.

ditto to that.

What a great game & experience to be in Kyle Field.

I will give the aggies this – 99% of the fans were actually pretty nice and well behaved throughout the game.

But man – it was cool to see it in person. Add in the fact that this is the game that made my Boston Born Wife a true Tech & college football fan, it all equals a game I will never forget.

Insight Bowl

One of my best Tech Football memories was the 1st game I went to in 1985. Their 1st game of the season vs NM. We won on a 2pt conversion with basically no time on the clock 32-31. It wasn’t a great season but a fantastic game. I was hooked forever after…

The Insight Bowl was also a great memory. Does anyone know where I can buy the DVD for it? I’ve looked around here and there but never found it.

by cbreedon on Jun 28, 2010 12:03 PM CDT reply actions

I bought mine from the Texas Tech athletic department.

After looking everywhere for it from the time the game ended until about a year and a half ago, I finally gave up and called the athletic department. They sell them but it’s really not well advertised as far as I know.

They have the radio call with all the commercials cut out and a lot of the time between plays cut out as well so the games move along very briskly. I miss some of the TV commentary and chatter between plays, but it’s really hard to complain when you get to watch such a great game again.

by merrik on Jun 28, 2010 3:37 PM CDT up reply actions

I still have never seen it (Insight Bowl)

I was on vacation in the Caribbean, and I found the one bar on the island with a satellite TV so I could watch the game. I left at halftime in total disgust and went to bed extremely angry that the Red Raiders had ruined a good two days of my vacation (1 day for the game, the next day stewing over the loss).
Cell phone reception was spotty so I didn’t pick up any of the numerous phone calls I got during the second half. I woke up with my voice mail light blinking and thought that was odd. As my brother recanted the story to me…“seriously, I am NOT kidding, we came back and won,” I was even more heartbroken than I was during the night. I’ve never been a “leave at halftime” kind of guy when it comes to the Red Raiders so the Murphy’s Laws Gods really put a whoopin on me with this one. I can never watch the game; it would be too painful.

I changed into my maroon "Aggie Uncle" t-shirt at halftime

I was that pissed. I was also stomping on the Tech flag. We realy laid an egg that first half. So after the comeback I had this odd feeling that maybe that Aggie Uncle t-shirt was good luck. I haven’t tested this theory in a game since.

I was at work..

I used to work in a basement call center when I went to Tech. It being around Christmas / New Years and late at night and all, it was very very quiet. We had a small TV which I usually let the girl I worked with have control of, but I grabbed the remote and turned the game on.

She was from California and didn’t care / know anything about football, but she looked up at halftime and mentioned to me that our team must not be very good. I told her that we’ve had some good comebacks in the past and you never know. She kind of laughed..

A while later I scared the crap out of her because I was yelling after we tied the game. She couldn’t believe we came back and won. That was my favorite night at that job by far.

I just remember that i hated the fact that it wasn’t on cable… or at least the cable that i had. I had to watch it on ESPN’s gamecast. I couldn’t press the refresh button fast enough… what a great game though. At least our next bowl comeback was on cable… that gator bowl was equally as epic

08 UT

The energy that week was different, I think it was mainly because we knew we were going to win. There were lots of years where we won unexpectedly and that was wild but that week was such a buildup of tension because deep in our hearts we knew we were going to win. The national media and our own Chris Level picked Texas to win, they all said that we just didnt have what it was going to take, “it will be a close game but in the end Texas wins” that just fueled the fire.

It was a unique situation because of the pressure we felt as fans, this was one of the first big games that if we didnt win we were going to be disappointed. I know having graduated in dec 99, a win was an added bonus. This was the first time where the tables were turned and we expected to win.

Whitlock got the saftey and all that tension turned to pure joy ! Thanks Colby !

I was at a backyard party in Lubbock the night before that game

There was a circle of about 4 Tech boosters & one Texas booster/former player. We were talking about the upcoming game & the UT guy was blown away by how confident the Tech people were that we would win the game. You could see him getting nervous as the conversation went on. UT people aren’t used to seeing anything approaching confidence from Texas Tech. I hope they get very used to it in the years ahead.

There was just a feeling

At the last minute I decided I had to go to the game…I just had a feeling it was going to be different. I got on StubHub and spent a ridiculous amount of money for tickets – that ended up being worth every dime. Drove 7 hours from Austin on that Saturday. Had to stay at a hotel in Abilene since Lubbock hotels had long been sold out and get back to Austin by 3pm on Sunday to catch a flight for a business trip. Crazy but so worth it. I still get chills when I remember that night. Priceless. Love you Coach Leach!!

So now that USA is out of World Cup, and CWS is winding down....

I think its time for more of these sort of posts to get us pumped up for football season. Seeing “The Catch” again has week 3 coming slower than Christmas already.

Re: UT 2008 & OSU 2008

I was at a bike rally and had the game on a TV outside of a tent / bar thingy. I do believe I was the only Tech fan within 118 miles (it was in Midland). I remember watching the game thinking, we are going to win at all cost no matter what. When it became obvious it was going to happen, which was after Texas’ first drive, I got real mouthy and arrogant about it. I was then hit with a keg, litterally. A**hole Texas fan chunked it and broke my arm. I had the chance to watch the game or get my arm reset and put into a cast. Let’s just say broken arm or not, I wasn’t missing a minute of that game. I had enough to drink that my arm didn’t hurt anymore.

Now, the Xerox U game is a different story. I had finally had a cast put on the day before the game. I left for Lake Allen Henry on a fishing trip with intentions of watching the game somewhere in Post. Nobody had the game on TV nor would they try and find it. So, we took the boat out on the water until we could find the game on the radio. It was damn cold and the wind was blowing about 25 MPH, but we made it all the way through the game. Of course, I had been drinking and when we got back to our camping spot, I jumped outta the boat to tie it off and went right in the water, cast and all on my arm. Miserable evening, but we had plenty of beer and whiskey. No problem.

Football season couldn’t start soon enough.

Well speaking of drinking

I drove from Dallas to San Antonio to join my TT buddy and his UT wife and about fifteen others. There were three of us, I was nervous all day and held of on that first beer until about 30mins before game time, I must have looked pale people kept asking if I was ok, I was so nervous, because I was all worked up inside and was terrified that the confidence I had built up would crush me. Before the game I was really nice and just told everyone that UT can win the NC next year but its not going to happen this year. Then like I say Whitlock got the saftey and witin five minutes three of us were inside and the 12-15 UT fans were on the back porch watching on a makeshift computer monitor on a card table. I ran through about 22 Abita Turbodogs during the corse of the game, my oldlady i think tossed the last three in the bushes.

Then the calls starting coming in from my friends in Dallas about how great it was, if you know anything about Dallas you know the odds are much worse than 3-15, Entire bars of people were being taken on by groups of 3-5 Red Raiders.

I am a member of the pre-text message generation

I would estimate that half of all the text messages I have recieved in my life & 75% of all text messages I have sent on my phone came in around 10:15 that night. I spent the entire drive from the stadium back to SW Lubbock answering them all. Chicago Transit Authority opened their 1st album with a recording of the chant from the 1968 Democratic Convention protests: “The whole world is watching.. The whole world is watching..”. That is how it felt to be the Texas Tech guy anybody you’ve ever known knows of that night. They were all watching & they all reached out to give a thumbs up. We need to do that again. Real soon.

ut 08

I couldn’t talk about the ut 08 game for a couple of days, as my voice was gone. Still surprised I got my dad and one of his buddies out of the stadium in one piece.

I challenge Coach Tuberville

to match Leach’s 70-10 win against Nebraska in 2004—a win that later led to Nebraska’s head coach, Bill Callahan, being fired one month later—on any opponent that Tech faces within the next 5 yrs.

I doubt Tuberville will accomplish said feat.

The only coaches I know of that could pull off those “Video Game-like” jaw-dropping insane wins were Coach Leach and Bob Stoops from OU.

Watching that game against Nebraska on TV was classic.

Best post Ever

I think Ive been back here so many times I might get fired. Watching that OSU game was something else, definitly the peak of the Leach era. The team offense was playing so smoothly that OSU really stoped trying because Harrell made it look so easy they just ran out of fight. The defense was wrecking havoc and as he would say all four sides of the ball were feeding into each other. At that specific point we couldve beaten Fla, Alabama, USC, anyone !

Then the off week and then the really really off week at norman!

I think I figured out what that uncomfortable feeling...

…I have been feeling in my stomach, the one that gnaws at you and won’t go away….the one that won’t allow me to really enjoy his post the way I should(and it will seems like it will be a while till I can)….

Unfulfilled promise..

The excitement of seeing what player was going to step up and exceed expectations in the Leach system…the thought that this years QB will get in that perfect zone in his offense and throw for sixty TD’s…who will be the next Crabtree?…the thought that our opponent knows that what ever they do to prepare defensively for this game that that very well could be like a good Nebraska team and have seventy points shoved down their throats …the unbridled hope(and expectation) that this was going to be the year the Leach team puts it all together, and like the Mike Martz St Louis Rams with Kurt Warner, we would outscore everyone, run the table and make it to the National championship game and win like the Martz Ram team did vs, Tennessee Titans!!!

We don’t have that possibility any more and that is just now hitting me,,,,

Great post!!

These games, and I can’t think of any I would replace, are but stepping stones to a winning tradition. I watched all but the A&M game. Those wins and others, continual improvement of the facilities and recruitment, a string of Bowl appearances that is best in the Big 12, a move to tier 1 status and a co-championship are strong signs of a program that is moving in the right direction.

AM Game #4

You didnt watch it because it wasnt on, a guy out of Dallas wrote a great article titled " The best game never seen on TV" I remember listening to the radio and yelling at the top of my lungs and I really suprised that the police didnt show up at my (apartment) door. Usually you dont hear those sort of explatives coming from someones place in such a violent manner and not think that someone is getting beat.
