Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville said he wants to use quarterback Steven Sheffield "more and more" in relief of starter Taylor Potts.
"We’re to the point now where we feel good about both of them," Tuberville said Wednesday. "Obviously, Taylor will get the start, but we’ll do a few different things with Steven, too, that we feel like he’s a little better at. As we go along through the year, the things we’ve been practicing on for six of seven weeks, we’ll start using."

I usually wait to post this stuff in the morning, but there's no time like the present and consider this my Wednesday evening gift to those that are checking in on DTN.

Christmas in September
Yeah.
It's called the Air Raid. So why would you try to run it like it's 1992?
Why
Is it obvious that Taylor gets the start?

I have supported Potts since the summer but after seeing him relapse last game I wouldn’t mind seeing Sticks in the game. Maybe Sticks can drive us to the red zone and Potts can take over for the score…. Jk. Glad to see him getting a fair shake. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Deoge or Karam in some clean up duty just to get them reps for next year.

Yes, but
lets hope it is not so different and limited that defenses will know what and figure out how to prepare.
One question.
What in the blue blazes took Tubs so long to make this decision? Baffling.

2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
Exactly.
Opps hit the wrong key. Ok. What has he been waiting for ? Happy that this is happening if in fact does. Not so sure that I believe the Catfish until I see it happen. Ok a doubting Thomas. Go Tech, Go Sticks, Go Team. and Go Taylor as well.
Hmmmmmm....
“we’re to the point now we feel comfortable about both of them.”
Interesting choice of language….this was the plan all along…implication, we wanted to be at this point earlier…we are happy we are there now.

Taylor still starts, BUT……we know Sticks can run, we’ve known Sticks can run. 6 or 7 weeks of practice we can use now that we’re gonna play Sticks….wait ..what? This…could…go…all…the….way!!! They’ve been working on this 6 or 7 weeks. Wish we could have tried alittle on the 18th. But okay coach, you got my attention!

Thanks for your service!!!
It’s sacrifices by folks like you that allow us to sit comfortably at our computers and fret over such important things as the Red Raiders! God Bless and God Speed!

He's seen enough
I think Tuberville has the information he’s been waiting for. Potts is going to be fine against lesser competition but he needs a gun slinger like Sheffield for the traditional rivals. Glad to see that this staff can admit that it’s not just an O-line issue.

For all the servicemen and women, as well as those in the private sector, overseas
Having served our great country in the U.S. Navy for four years a lifetime ago, I know how difficult it is to be away from home, and away from a school i love, Texas Tech University. I appreciate the alums who are watching this season from afar. For all, especially those in the armed forces, I pray you all will have a safe time there and return to us alive and well to root on the Raiders a little closer to home. Stay safe, think “Home” and cheer on the Raiders.

I will wholeheartedly agree.
Was also in the Navy in the 1st Desert Storm. My prayers will be lifted nightly for all abroad and your families at home awaiting your return. God"s Speed, God Bless and the more rounds on target down range, the less on you!
