Make sure and check out the first link above for a full schedule and the second link for the best games. I'd also suggest Turfburner's Jay Beck, who has a good preview of Week 5 in the Big 12. And in case you've forgotten, I'm linking to all of this stuff is my small and feeble attempt to not link to ESPN. Not because they don't have information, but because they don't report any new information and we can all find previews and breaking stories from other sources. You've got to help me not help ESPN.

TEXAS TECH FOOTBALL
Tommy Tuberville- You can’t be a one team league | Yahoo Sports Radio
Pretty interesting interview with Tim Brando and Tommy Tuberville, he does say that the Big 12 can't be a one team league and he also says that he personally doesn't have a problem with the Longhorn Network, but things changed when it was revealed that they wanted to add a conference game. Also, Brando is proud of himself for giving Tubs his nickname, Riverboat Gambler. Very proud of himself.
Texas Tech-Kansas fast facts | Red Raiders | Tech tests KU's struggling defense | Red Raiders
Nothing special here, but I did want to link to the pre-game depth charts. For those of you curious about where DT Delvon Simmons is, well he's listed as the #2 defensive tackle behind DT Kerry Hyder and CB Derrick Mays kept his job for at least another week as he wasn't passed over by CB Jarvis Phillips. Other than that, I couldn't find much, if anything different.
Under Armour, Texas Tech Team Up For - Texas Tech Red Raiders Official Athletic Site
Not being in the cotton industry, so I feel like I definitely don't know anything about this partnership, but it seems like a good idea as Under Armour is trying to use cotton instead of synthetics in their clothing. Under Armour is the only brand that I can think of that has a Charged Cotton type of program and products that predominately features cotton rather than synthetic material. I just wish their stuff wasn't so expensive.

WVU notebook: Coach deems Mountaineer Mantrip a success - Sports - The Charleston Gazette - West Virginia News and Sports -
Did you know that West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen implemented a new tradition at West Virginia? Much like Raider Walk, Holgorsen implemented West Virginia's walk to the stadium called Mountaineer Mantrip.
Scout.com: YEAGER: Random Thoughts - 9/30
Yeager has some random thoughts including that Texas Tech has really only had a good defense (in relatively recent years) twice, from 1982 through 1986 and from 1994 through 1998.

College football: Picks of the Week (and realignment tidbits) | College Hotline
Everyone's favorite West Coast conference realignment writer, John Wilner, writes that the internet reports that BYU will join the Big 12 this weekend are dead-wrong as the LDS is having its General Conference this weekend, which is apparently a big deal.

I also updated the countdown clock. Just forgot about it, but just in case anyone does check the clock, the game starts pretty soon.

Good morning Techsans!
I’m off to Tulsa. Hope I find a nice little conference victory under the tree when I watch the game on my dvr at midnight (assuming everybody in the car keeps their promise and doesn’t check sports scores).
Weekend got off to a bad start with my beloved Rangers gettin shut out by a 22 year old with 10 major league innings under his belt:( but if have faith Tech will win. 48-24 Tech! You heard it here first.

Travel safe
And yes, I was very disappointed in the Original boys from Arlington.

I tried to watch that entire game
But turned it off in disgust when Andrus had that error that made it 9-0. With one or two exceptions, the entire team looked like crap. I find it interesting that the only person to have success against Moore was Hamilton. Hey Wash, maybe you should take the hint — do NOT completely manhandle your regular lineup because a lefty is pitching, especially when he’s brand new. Make him prove that he can get left-handed batters out.
I’ll be at the game today, so hopefully I can cheer on a much-improved effort from Holland and the offense.

I am glad that Dana started some new traditions
I think you always need new excitement, enthusiasm. The FL Gators changed their logo in the mid 90s. Add new traditions. Dana is to change up their culture a bit. Being surrounded by WVU grads, I can tell you they have many many fans that are the bad Aggies of the east. They feel like their whole state is put down for being toothless hillbillies. And some are. The school is good, and most of the students and faculty are. But at their home football games the bad boys that never went to school there or grads who are just chippy about their whole lives show up. They are so nasty that it may keep them out of some conf. realignment talks. But really, LSU fans are the worst by a factor of 10 that I have ever been around.
How do we know that tooth brushes were invented in West Virginia?
Because if it were invented anywhere else, it would have been named a “teethbrush”
I wish Tuberville woulda told Brando that he likes his new nickname better.
Catfish Jesus just rolls off the tongue and succinctly explains everything.
No bullfights. No gambling. No donkeys. No vanilla extracts. No piƱatas. None of that stuff. Straight football. No switchblades.

Lubbock sits in the middle of the biggest cotton patch in the world!
Under Armour at one time had the slogan “Cotton Is The Enemy”. I thought this was ironic and bothered me since I am a cotton producer and the Lubbock economy is dependent on cotton . This years cotton crop unfortunately is probably the worst on the high plains in history. This drought has been one tough sob.
American farmers feed & clothe the world!
I hope UA is changing a bit. Also, I read this article this morning and thought it was pretty good re. the plight of cattle farmers in Texas:

This drought has done long term damage to the cattle industry!
Many herds have been reduced and liquidated. Its going to be hard to find replacements when this drought breaks. Replacements will be very expensive and beef prices will become very expensive in near term future, because of the low numbers.
That’s enough depressing talk. Lets kick some KU ass today!
American farmers feed & clothe the world!
I wore an Under Armour Harrell Jersey at all 2008 games for luck
I hated the fake materials. Cotton is the way to go.

Where's FSN on Dish today?
Been out ot the loop for a few days and wondering what happened to FSN and the game on FSN today?

"There is no chance he will win, but if you think about it carefully he would be a pretty good candidate. He says a lot with no substance, he's proven he can be bought, he's dishonest, and he has the personality of a TV evangelist so I think he would be perfect in Washington!"-- Mike Leach (When asked if he would vote for Craig James for Senate)
When you guys find a feed....let me know......
Not around the casa today. We need a big game. And then we can think about lubing up the goalposts for one final jam up the aggies collective sphincter.
Congrats to the Tech Soccer team
It was a tie with Baylor but it was a tough game. The Lady Red Raiders fought for every offensive and defensive stance up and down the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field in Waco.
Also an interesting read from Kirk Bohls:
“The coach I miss in the league the most is: Mike Leach.”
“The biggest change in the Big 12 is: Teams no longer fear Texas Tech.”
CTT needs to do whatever he needs to do to change the perception that Tech is no longer feared

NUTS - Never Underestimate TEAM Strength
Seth,
I can’t find the thread …. but, I posted a really offensive post (to me – sounded pathetic and like I had a black heart), concerning RRS an evanlttu. When I re-read it yesterday, I was ahshamed of my self. You (correctly) took offense to it, but let it stand. It seems your policy of no censorship ‘hurts’ the ‘badguy’ more than the mind-control bunch.
Well, I confess, my post did make me look bad, and I appoligize, especially to you.
However, your admins. of this blog lets people like me “moderate” our opinions, emotions, and hearts. I don’t like how my heart made you feel that day. Please forgive me.
