The guy was really trying to get into Leach’s head, but Mike would talk around all the answers in a way that really did not explicitly answer the questions. The one I found most interesting was when he tried to corner Leach into saying he would like to be the head coach at Kentucky, if it were to become open at some point in time (it is rumored that it will be open at the end of the year). Leach simply said how he and the Kentucky head coach were friends and he was sure he would get things turned around and continue on to doing well at Kentucky. Leach just would not encroach on a friend’s position. I thought that was very much a look into Mike Leach’s personality. He cherishes his friendships and will not do anything to undermine those relationships. I would expect he would probably say something similar to the Arizona coaching position. This will be a very flexitive situation where coaching situations are concerned the rest of this season and during the off-season. Hopefully, someone will sign on Mike Leach and he will be able to pursue his dreams once more walking the sidelines during football games.
