That’s just not supposed to happen . . . right? Say what you will about the end of the game, I thought OC Neal Brown and DC Chad Glasgow called masterful games. And so it ends, Oklahoma’s 39 game winning streak in Norman and if you wondered whether or not last year’s win against Missouri was a signature win for head coach Tommy Tuberville, I hope this one fills up your belly.

Unfreakinbelievable!!
So thrilled to bust that winning streak!!

I said before the game that this week reminded me of 1986 when we beat a #7 ranked Arkansas on the road!
That was the McWilliams year. We had lost the two previous weeks to Baylor 45-14 & A&M 45-8 and were currently sporting a 2-3 overall record. Arkansas had a national title contender and were ranked #7 (I think) with a potent option game. A&M had killed us with the run the week before. Somehow the D put together one of the most masterful performances I have ever seen against the triple option. Texas Tech won 17-7 on the road. (We also beat a mediocre UT team that year for the first time since 1980.)
Hopefully, this season will now end with a better overall result than 1986. We were 7-5 that year after a close loss to Ole Miss in the Independence Bowl. I expect 8 regular season wins in 2011 now!
Lets see how many haters come out now
Impressive win. Love the fight in this team

I tell both UT & OU fans all the time
They are both cowards for playing that game on a neutral field EVERY year. It makes the season much easier for winner of that game each year.

now you have to find a replay of the whole game.
Excellent play after excellent play … a true complete winning team with HEART – skill- desire – and determination. Each player doing his job. A must watch.

I’m burning me some BluRay copies. This one is a keeper.
2011 Season - No excuses. Just win!
Now is the time to panic.
This win will have very little value if things go back to normal.
Defense slacked up in the fourth, but it WAS the Sooners…can’t shut them out all game.

No more in game posts from me – only postgame.
I felt so many times like it was slipping away. Once was a fake punt, once when we didn’t make a 1st down with 1st and 3, once on a 2nd down run on 2nd and 3 in the red zone that got stuffed, and then on a delay of game penalty from our 10…but we pulled it out.
The D came to play tonight. I don’t remember getting a sack, but there was enough pressure to make errant throws. Their ground game was good, but we did enough to stop them when it counted.
I’ve seen the potential in this team all year long, and it’s very fulfilling to see them execute.
The confidence these young guys just got will be immeasurable in the future.
I will have Russian Coffee in the morning to celebrate.

If you can’t be consistent in your comments, I lose all respect for you. (not you maskedtech), just poster’s in general.
Only because they didn’t convert. If they convert that plus all the other 4th down plays, you’d be singing his praises for learning from last couple games of candy-ass play calling.

Conservative to the rear
Because of the two previous loses the coaches retooled their approach. Throw on first down, take more chances, etc. Even though two of the risky calls didn’t succeed I think you will see more of this approach in the future. And if anyone bitches about the fake punt r the fourth and one that didn’t make it, then they need to post on some other site from now on.

He needs to make sure he takes full responsibility for this win!
He is so bad about listing other reasons

I was so disappointed after last weeks loss to K-State… the play calling… the mistakes…. oh GOD the mistakes…. I completely lost faith in the coaching staff… I had convinced myself that we were going to lose against OU and there was nothing Tech could do about it… But this group of kids… these GOD BLESSED PLAYERS PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT TONIGHT AND I COULDN’T BE PROUDER OF THIS TEAM THAN I AM RIGHT NOW FOR HOW THEY PUT IT ALL ON THE LINE TONIGHT! This team showed they shouldn’t be underestimated! THEY SHOWED THAT THEY’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO CONTEND IN THIS CONFERENCE!!! THIS IS TO YOU, THE PLAYERS! YOU PLAYED SO DAMN DOEGE TONIGHT, AND I AM PROUD OF EVERYONE OF YOU, YES EVEN YOU JAMES!

What else do we need to do? We just BEAT THE #3 TEAM IN THE FUCKING COUNTRY ON THEIR FUCKING HOME FIELD!!! But, you know how these stupid pollsters are! Some probably won’t notice it until next week.
There are several 5-2 teams in the top 20
We outgained & barely lost to two of them. Hell yes beating #1 gets us ranked.
2011 Season - No excuses. Just win!
We're #14 in Sagarin..
Saw us at #22 in Coaches, #19 in the AP. We should be around #18-20 in the BCS.
Be a team. Be the most excited to play. Be the best at doing your @#&$ing job.
Totally in shock
I expected a beat down tonight. We executed beautifully on both sides AND special teams. We showed that when we execute, and are not afraid to go for it, we are capable of beating anyone anywhere. Now let’s do the same to ISU, ut, OSU, Baylor, & Mizzou!

Well, they had a hell of a game tonight. That helps make up for (but doesn’t erase) some crappy coaching earlier in the season. If we keep stringing together games like this one, I am fully on board. They’ve shown what they are capable of, now they need to live it.

NB really had his stuff together tonight.
Good clock management, good mix of plays just a great game all the way around.
The super-delay hand-off was a thing of beauty. I don’t remember Leach having that sort of delay, two full counts, to really let the over-aggressive OU pass-rushers run up the field. I don’t know how many times he called that on 1st down, but he it was successful (+5 yards) is seemed like each time.

It was almost a zone read. Good point.

Yep, but with a zone read, there’s an option for the QB to keep the ball. Those were straight hand-offs, just two seconds after the snap. It helped put OU back on their heels and remember that play being run on the Swindall TD drive.

Texas Tech is going to see bigger and better days. Support your RED RAIDERS!!!
I'd love to beat UT in Austin too
I dislike OU, but I don’t feel the burning hatred for them that I feel for the damned Whorns. I’ve had to listen to UT fans and their bullshit all my life—Ou doesn’t bug me so much. Hell, I usually root for them over UT!

Well...
I gotta give Coach Tubs his props—he did one helluva job this week and tonight. Did you hear him admit to “making some bonehead calls” on his post-game? Way to go, Tommy!

Keeping the state of Texas from floating into the Gulf of Mexico is the fact that Oklahoma sucks

And everybody else of course.

“Congrats to Tech best upset of the season.”
Just Win!
Amen on Torres!
That kid’s a fucking stud! Loved watching him tear up OU two years ago. Especially nice since we had some drunk Sooner fans sitting behind us in Section 11. Their asses were GONE after halftime!
WAY TO GO, RAIDERS!
I thought was was going to scream at the constant blaring of that @#$% OU band! Finally just turned the sound off and enjoyed the wonderful quietness of our warriors beating the crap out of Oklahoma. The look on their fans’ faces was priceless. I played a part in this win as well…..I too voted that we would beat them by 3 points. I couldn’t be prouder of our team, the coaches……..and the goal post!
That was funny
I didn’t turn off the sound but was yelling at the screen like I did when I tuned back into Tech football, 1995 against Penn State.
Too bad we couldn’t have done this to A&M as I detest them but have no animosity towards OU>
Wait till....
Wait until A&M goes to Norman in 2 weeks. Maybe the Sooners will do us a big favor by spanking the “Fightin’ Texas Sheep Humpers!” Can you say “baaaahhhhh?”

Very satisfying
win, second only (for me) to ’08 over UT. And I was completely wrong and thought Tech had no chance, but the defense (except for a glaring error near the end) played beautifully as did the offense. If they can keep on this track, we can strike terror into the hearts of our enemies and I do so want to jam it to Texas.
Congratulations to our team on a game beautifully played.

Brent M is a dumbass!
Wish he’d go sit on the porch and let someone else do the broadcast!
My best (some of them)....
I loved 1976! Got to walk out of Kyle Field after beating A&M 27-16, through a crowd of completely SILENT, pissed off Ag fans. Delicious beyond belief! And never, EVER will forget winning over UT in a 31-28 thriller at the Jones (spent $7 on a STANDING ROOM ticket) on a day where Earl Campbell played hurt (that man was a HELLUVA GREAT player, only Horn I admire) and which was Darrel Royal’s last year and last game at the Jones. That baby went down to the last second—God, what a game! (Didn’t see 2008 UT game in person, but drove by the Jones at the end of the game. Good grief, that place was freakin’ LOUD!)
Always great to see Tech post a historic win. And even better, we did it wearing really sharp road unis!
yep on the unis...
we actually looked better than the classic sooner unis when on the field at the same time….

OU
IS 75-3 at home in the Stoops era. Their only other losses being to TCU and OSU, that’s pretty amazing.
I’m so proud of this team tonight. There were so many reasons for things to go wrong, from low snaps and spotty secondary play, but somehow we held it together for the win. Like Spike would’ve said, "this team is held together like an old Model A, with bailing wire and duct tape."
I think we’re better than that, but you always had to give Spike credit for a nice turn of phrase.

I'll eat plenty of beans...
And then I’ll REALLY “Jump Around!”
Just watching the replay again on my DVR...Ward's downfield block in the first half was the play of the game...
OU was never the same after they peeled their guy off the grass…fuck the land thieves….

Did everyone go to sleep?
Come on, we just won one of the most important games in school history—keep posting! Oh well, maybe everyone else just passed out—ha ha! Been there, done that.
Oh boy!
Bet there’s gonna be a whole lot of REALLY hungover folks tomorrow!
What time is the ISU game?
Man, I’m gonna have to get up really early (before 10 am) for that game.
And I was just hoping
that we would beat the spread and not embarrass ourselves tonight!
I don't know about that time
I was hearing it would be about 1 or 2.
Saw on Blayne Beal's twitter

OK
Saw 6 pm on the official Tech site. Fine with me—I can still sleep late!
Wow.
I’ve been one of the harshest critics of this team and TTubs. I was at game 3 watching the Rangers get their ass beat so I still haven’t watched the game. Point is, I’m not going to now jump on the bandwagon, but I looked like the fat clarinet chick when I heard Tech beat OU. I’m very, very proud of these kids and this team. Way to go Tech. Love to see some pride shining thru.
Not just pride
but real live quality plays by our guys …. you gotta watch this game!
Looking at Crimson and Cream Machine
You would think Tech is a New Mexico-caliber team based on some of their posts

Let 'em....
And when they wake up, the poor bastards STILL have to live in Oklahoma—ha ha!
Time for bed!
Been a long and fun night of posting.
I'm so happy!
And you should be, too. Soak in a great win. Give the team and coaches credit. They earned it.
