I can't really speak to exactly how many snaps Wesley played (he was in there, though)
but Simmons is definitely in the rotation. If you don’t know his jersey number, he’s the huge kid in the middle who stands straight up every play but still manages to do okay because he’s so strong.
Both are playing
Brian Jensen (1190 AM Dallas) said last week that both are playing. Simmons is still adjusting to the college game (speed, reads, etc.). Even though he has the frame, he still needs to put on more muscle. Probably won’t see his impact until later this year or next year for sure.

Also
Kerry Hyder has been pretty darn good, and it looks at times (especially during the Nevada game) we’ve been playing a lot of 3 man fronts….

The DTs are our problem...
you’re right in that. I think Wesley was out shortly with an injury. Simmons gets some reps, but clearly not enough. Hyder and Langley each weigh 260. That’s not enough to anchor a line. Chris Perry (ass that he is) needs more reps at 309 lbs. Wesley and Simmons wouldn’t hurt.
ironically
The staff say he’s playing in the 280-290 range right now. Plenty big but without the saddle bags
I'll take the saddle bags...
what we need is one dude who can anchor the line and eat up two blockers. Without that, opposing guards get too good of a push and the point of attack for the LBs gets moved back a good 2-3 yards.
Colby is gone
and honestly, he was a great player, just didn’t have anybody around him after Smith got suspended.
Whats the deal with stopping the run, seems damm near impossible
