Around SBN: Events Cause Mariners To Lose To Rangers

Texas Tech senior defensive tackle Donald Langley and sophomore wide receiver Aaron Fisher were injured Saturday against Oklahoma State and will miss the rest of the season.

Langley suffered a broken ankle, and Fisher tore his anterior cruciate ligament. Both will have surgery in the coming days, Tech coach Tommy Tuberville said.

that sucks for Aaron . . .

means he’s going to miss most of Spring practice. He was on schedule to compete with some guys for next year. Hopefully he recovers well. But only having 9 months til the beginning of the season will be really rough.

big blow for our DL

I know we have been well below average on defense. But to lose Lanley really hurts. Hope they are all ok.

injuries

Never one to be glad someone suffered an injury, but Mizzou’s 1100+ rusher is lost for the season

I started to keep an injury log this season.

But decided that I was over sensitive to the issue, that it would not be as many this season, that last season’s numbers were a fluke…I would like to see the data now.

Best wishes to all who are injured, each is a tough loss.

That's a shame

Good luck to the seniors in their future, and good luck to the younger guys in their rehab.

Really feel bad for these guys;

but when your team is 5-5 and reeling, all I can think about is how Tommy told us that we had the wrong strength coach, we worked on the wrong parts of the body, we were too big, too slow, but damn if our kids in the past ten years seem to make it through okay.

Someone needs to do an injury comparison for the past ten years and past two years respectively. But I would guess that we have had more players lost to injuries in the past two years than we had in the past two years. I know Mike did not talk about injuries, but the kids showed up to play. I would bet more DTN bucks than there are more injuries in the past two than the past ten.

I never had seen anything like this before. Another new Tommy tradition.

"Oh, yeah. We don't even talk about Bowls much. We're so far away from being a team right now that can have a chance to compete in a Bowl." HC Tommy Tuberville.

Stephens and Langley had broken ankles. That’s not conditioning. Doesn’t seem like an ACL tear is conditioning either otherwise Whitaker for UT, Michael for TAMU and Josey for MU all have similar problems. Zou and Porter were both concussions. Who else am I missing?

Also,

I think we might want to keep in mine, that we aren’t as deep as we are use to, and every injury hits the team much harder.

Fozzy Whitaker

I see Fozzy is out for the season with ACL and MCL injuries. He should get in touch with Barron for inspiration.
