RB Discussion
I was very impressed with our RB production this year and like everyone else very disappointed with the season ending injuries to Eric Stephens and DeAndre Washington. I thought Aaron Crawford did an outstanding job of stepping up when Stephens went down. He ran hard every time he touched the ball and had more success than I think anyone expected.
Given the uncertainty of success in rehab, Tubs is sounding the fire alarm on the need to recruit RB's - when we had a reportedly awesome RB class last year - which of course included Washington. But, what is the general take on Kenny Williams and Ronnie Daniels? Why didn't we red shirt at least one of them? I know one of them got into Tubs doghouse for some reason, but can't remember which or if there was any reported reason what got him into trouble. And let's not forget Bradley Marquez was recruited initially as an RB.

Williams was initially getting a redshirt
and Daniels was going to play, but he’s currently indefinitely suspended and in the words of Neal Brown, “Not on the team right now”. Then of course Stephens was injured, so he got activated and of course Washington saw an expanded role. Given what’s happened with Ben McRoy, I very much doubt we’ll see Marquez get moved back to RB under the current regime- I think Tuberville prefers his backs to be about 20 pounds heavier than where Marquez is at, not to mention he’s shaping up into a good option at inside receiver.
actually that's not quite accurate
Williams got activated for the NM game, so it’s probably a better guess to say he was activated in response to Daniels’ second suspension.

Washington
I excited about this RB for the future. In the short amount of time I’ve seen him play he always impresses. Very shifty and hard to tackle. Also excited to see Williams continue to find his game. Jarves McRoy will also be in the mix next season as well.

I suspect
that Stevens will not be back for his senior year due to his injury.
As it said, he is nt on the team "right now"
That does not mean permanantly,as we found out in a similar case with Scott Smith. I am in hopes Ronnie will return to the team for next year.

I am just too tired to add it all up, but mabye SARR can do a pie chart;
based on the number of kids who have left the program since Tommy came aboard, including but not limited to:
Suspended or booted off the team
Just quit because HC placed a dead horse head in their bed at night
De committed because we were winning too many games
Transfered because Tech did not have a very good law school

I think the HC put the horse head in SARRs bed

Crawford...
Did I nice job filling in, but let’s face it. The offense never was the same one Stephens went down. Washongton, Daniels, Williams…all nice compliments to a RB like Stephens. I appreciate what E-Stephens did once he was no longer running w/ the rock. He will ve back, but probably in 2013 if he chooses to go that route.

It is now evident that Stephens was the leader on this team, and the bounce back probably helped us at OU, but killed us long term.
