TEXAS TECH FOTBALL
Longhorns, Red Raiders would become bowl eligible with victory | Red Raiders
Not so much about bowl eligibility, but quotes from some of the UT players, including former Frenship OG Mason Walters, who had this to say about QB Seth Doege:
"I think it speaks a lot to his character," Walters said of Doege going on to start — and thrive — at Tech. "It just shows that he’s been able to fight through any adversity he has. I think a lot of him for it."
Longhorns’ balanced attack ready for Tech - The Daily Toreador: Sports
This is somewhat misleading as the Longhorns really don't have a balanced attack, are much better running the ball (17th in the nation) than passing the ball (90th in the nation). Anyway, RB Foswhitt Whitaker and Walters talk about the UT offense:
"I won’t tell you the particular number that we’re looking for," Whittaker said. "I just feel like just running the ball effectively, getting us in manageable down and distance to be able to convert on third downs (are) our main (goals) and what we look forward to doing."
The offensive line has cleared holes, but it hasn’t been just the underclassmen at running back who have taken advantage. In the tilt with the Jayhawks, an eight-player cavalcade cascaded for positive rushing yards.
"It’s obviously not (the case that) every play we blocked was perfect, and they fought for what they got," offensive lineman Mason Walters said. "I just think that gives us more opportunities throughout the game to be able to run the ball."

A good look at how to take down Texas Tech.
91st-ranked recruit plans to be Raider | Red Raiders
Williams has a bit on Texas Tech's newest commitment, A&M Consolidated RB Quinton White. Here's White:
"I was nervous, because I didn’t know if Tech was going to offer me," White said. "I’m a smaller running back. I’m not that fast. I originally committed to Tulsa and was pretty solid there. Then I got the offer today and was like, ‘Oh, my gosh. It’s for real.’"
White, who had been pledged to Tulsa since June, said he is 5-foot-8 and 188 pounds. The Rivals.com recruiting service ranks him as the No. 91 recruit in the state.
He said Tech makes sense for several reasons: He’s liked the Red Raiders for a few years. One of his best friends, A&M Consolidated defensive tackle J.J. Bynum, also is a Tech pledge. He likes catching the ball out of the backfield.
"I like their offense," White said, "and (receiver) Detron Lewis went there who was a graduate from A&M Consolidated. I like what they did with him. It’s a good program to be in, and Tommy Tuberville’s a great head coach."
I haven't had time to do a profile just yet, but you can find White's Rivals, Scout, ESPN and 24/7 Sports in those links as well as some YouTube video. Here you can find White's current stats and Dave Campbell had White as one of the top 300 players in the state of Texas. You'll note that White says he isn't that fast, but Campbell has White running a fake 40-time of 4.4, so there's that.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
The Alphabetical, Week 10: The Home Stretch Beckons - SBNation.com
This week's Alphabetical has this inauspicious note about Texas Tech:
U is for Uneath. Scarce, as in first downs for Texas Tech in their precipitous return to earth against Iowa State. 290 yards total offense is a pitiful performance, but it also backs up our suspicion that Oklahoma's secondary is going to be rent asunder with comical ease by Oklahoma State in the Bedlam Game. There is an element of letdown for Texas Tech here, sure, but OU's secondary gave up easy yards to an attack that totalled 191 yards through the air against Iowa State.

Okay, you know how it is, family can beat up on each other, but don't you dare push my brother around.
Driving home last night I was listening to the Longhorn Show that predicted that UT would roll over Tech 35-12. Funny that they thought we would not score against their defense, but we would kick four field goals. Additionally, they were making fun of our defense and expect to run the ball 80 times with the freight train they call Malcom Brown and company.
I tried to call in, which I never do, but they were disrespecting us so badly that I had to try. I hope that TT is posting this on the bulletin board. This Texas team is over confident and ripe for pickens. I hope that this team is ready to play.
Doege needs to be Doege and Russian Coffee needs to turn the heat up on the defense.
"I feel sorry for the guys," Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "They fought hard tonight. We didn't look good on offense or defense at times, and at times we looked pretty good. It's just, I don't know. Weird game.
I hear you
Tech could win this game is they have their sh*t together. Last year Tech should have won against a much weaker team but I won’t get into that. It’s all going to come down to who shows up for Tech this weekend. Are the coaches going to coach to win or just play conservative football? Tuberville needs to take chance on 4th downs and get away from 3 point field goals all day long. Can our defense wrap up on a tackle and possibly force turnovers? Can Corona kick off a ball that makes it to the endzone?
I agree we can win this game especially if we can win in Norman but will our coaches have our players thinking they can win?

Would certainly be a good win..............no such thing as a bad win - especially over those bastards......

The breakdown on orangebloods is in incredibly well-written recap. It’s a first for me to read something from a whorn website that didn’t make me feel like I lost valuable brain cells.

The more uphill this looks, the happier we are. I’ve said it before and will say it again….Red Raiders (all of us) are at our best with a big ass chip on our shoulder.

Maybe that's our problem
Have you seen Tubs up close in a game day polo? Have you seen what small shoulders and upper body he has? Seriously, most TT coeds have more meat on their shoulders than he does. How can you carry a big ass chip on those things? Get that man into the weight room. Somebody get him some of those protein shakes.

That guy really gets under my skin
After the OU win he was on his high horse about how it was a fluke and then he proved he was right. I hated to see that!

first i got free tickets and now i got two free wrist bands to the miller light tailgate….this is gonna be a happy red raider win or lose.

I Feel good about this one.
No doubt Texas tech will come out mad after all the crap the got for losing the way they did.
I think we’ll see a tech team running on all cylinders.
I actually think with Doege playing like Doege we can pick apart Texas like OU did.
I think our fast paced passing attack will be too much for them.
We will not stop their run game but if we stop them just enough, we can win.
