Sherman Out at aTm?
I know, I know...it's wikipedia. But it's still interesting. This is their opening paragraph on the Mike Sherman page. I'm copying directly from the site as it's an open source site.
Mike Sherman"Michael Francis "Mike" Sherman (born December 19, 1954) is the former head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies football team. He was relieved of his Head Coaching position on December 1st, 2011..."
Very interesting. Not that it matters what the Fish Bait choose to do, but I like the coaching carousel each year. Fascinates me. Their fans seem to think Kevin Sumlin is the next man to lead them.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Double-T Nation's writers or editors.

If true, I would like to give Sherman Tanks for leaving - His A&M Record was typical Aggie but he owned TTU
The idea of any Aggie coach owning TTU makes me sick, but they do have a 3 game win streak on us. So I’m glad to see him go. I’m sure they’ll hire somebody even dumber now. What is that old coach who went undefeated at Auburn doing these days? He would be perfect for that job.

Pretty much
everyone owns Tech these days.
Chip Brown (FWIW) says he stays this year:
I’m told Mike Sherman – and his $8 million buyout – will be back at Texas A&M next season.
Go Raiders . . .

to be fair...
Chip Brown was also “told” that UT was gonna use it’s networking contacts to get Notre Dame to join the BigXii.

Someone change the status of Tuberville's job on Wiki!
Tuberville must go! We would love for this to happen:
Ole Miss invites him to be their head coach. Tub tells the players on the fight over to Oxford that he has resigned at Texas Tech. Then Ole Miss tells him “SIKE!”, and Tubs is out of a job.

The only way he leaves for now is if he’s hired away. We can hope for now but I wouldn’t be surprised if Tuberville has his feelers out. I’m sure he knows that year 3 ain’t gonna be pretty.

Ron Zook is available. I know things did not end well in Illinois but he’s been a good coach through the years.
I meant for ATM not Tech. Zook had a losing record during his tenure at Illinois and would not be a signficant upgrade from Tubs.

Interesting perspective

If you read nothing else read the fifth paragraph from the bottom, concering how successful schools are successful.

Heard that two very powerful camps
at AM have very different views on what to do with Sherman. The BoR, president want him out, the AD and Stallings want him to stay (it may be vice versa, but I think that’s what I read). The issues is a very highly ranked incoming class and a very fat buyout that would be more than the Big XII exit fee they are paying.
My guess is he goes in to 2012 as a lame duck coach and will be gone after next year.

On top of that, Kevin Sumlin has an offer for ASU
and he’s someone many at aTm wanted to try and bring in.

Sherman out Bill Byrne on Texas Ags.com
Could Tubberville be a candidate at a&m. I know I know. But right now I would be thrilled if he took the job at Muleshoe.
Tuberville's buyout is tiny so it's not out of the realm of possibility
the issue is, who would want him?
what did Muleshoe ever do to you to deserve that curse? A friend told me this story many years ago. She and her family were announcing a move from their home in Kansas and moving to Muleshoe at their church. The pastor read the information and said, "Come up and say goodbye to the _ family, as they prepare to move to Mules Hoe, TX.

Brown retiring at UT after Baylor game
This is also getting a lot of stroke!
Did Leach deal too soon?
UCLA, ASU, A&M, Penn State, UT, makes me wonder if our Captain didn’t jump too soon. I’m sure he felt relieved when AD Moos showed up from WSU and started talks about him coming back, but with a record like his, everybody knowing he was railroaded, makes me wonder why he wasn’t a little more patient and take over a program in a hotbed. I’m guessing it would be easier to recruit to Tempe than Pullman, but who knows. Just my two cents!
I think Mike is quite comfortable with his decision
1. has a very supportive AD
2. Program has a lot of growth potential
3. Everyone likes a winter home near the mountains.
i'm back bitches.....................deal with it.
I was in College Station today and at luch I over heard some really older gentlemen;
and I mean over 80 clost to 90 talking about how Sherman was out after meeting yesterday. I did not believe it, but on the way home I heared on radio that Sherman was out. They really hate Sherman. They were talking about Sumlin as being the next coach. The old guys were.
Hmmm.

wanted
Division I coach with solid background and experience. preferably in a conference such as the SEC. Must have at least one years experience in running a successful program (into the ground). Must have championship experience and talk often of bringing that to Fishbait U. We oversell ourselves just like our new coach should have done in his most recent position. Plenty of rental properties in our community, so you will not feel tied down.

I think Tubs is just kicking himself in the head right now....
If he could have held out for two more years…
He could’ve gone into College Station talking about Championships and throwing his resume around with an undefeated season in the SEC…. talking about Ray Lewis and DEFENSE… talking about the glory days of the old Wrecking Crew…
I’m serious… this is going to make him even all the more dissatisfied with his current situation…
