Red Raiders in all places
It has been great fun now that we have a Red Raider telling us to look for references to Texas Tech in TV shows. How about posting some pictures of Texas Tech or Red Raiders or Double-Ts "hidden" in news pictures or movies, or post pictures from servicemen, travelers, and explorers. I would post a picture of me holding up my "guns up" in front of the Arctic Circle sign in Alaska, just have not figured out these fancy computer gimmicks yet. Anyone have pics of a Tech flag they took to unusual places like Everest or in front of the Statue of Liberty or the Coliseum in Rome? Or meet someone in a foreign country wearing a Tech logo? Guns up in front of the Capital in DC or the Great Wall? Show us how you took your school pride across the planet. Meanwhile, I'll work on posting mine.

Back in '79...
Just before I graduated, there was a neat story in the UD (today’s Daily Toreador) about two Palestinean guerillas in Jordan or Beirut who were wearing Tech t-shirts. These two guys had both been students at TTU. One told the interviewer, “Last year we almost went to the Cotton Bowl!” (referring to Tech’s near-miss in the ’78 season).
Texas Monthly had a short piece in the late 80's..
about a South Central Los Angeles street gang who adopted Texas Tech gear and Red & Black as their gang colors. They would mail order Tech hats & jackets for all their gang members. I don’t know if they used the guns up as a secret hand signal, but they should have.
"...Fight for the school we love so dearly"
Ill bet that was good for buisness, the damm gangs or one of them adopted a Nascar colors. Its the funniest thing to see some punk black kid with Jeff Gordon gear. If that doesnt set off some bells

Blaze a trail, spend some time in West Texas, feel the sand sting your skin and burn your eyes, let the winter dry your hands, learn that its there only because our ancestors didn’t want to be around other people … that’s West Texas
Way Cool!!!!
The Red and Black really shows up nice against the white mountains. Thank you for that! This is a great idea and just the remedy for Tech fans this year.

Forgot to mention...
The picture was taken by a co-worker who is also a Red Raider. What are the chances of that?

Uis (pronounced ooh-weese) Namibia...Namibia borders the Northwest border of South Africa along the Southwest Coast of Africa. A friend of mine was in the Peace Corps there.
This is a picture of one of my buddies with one of the local students our friend taught English to in the local school giving a Guns Up. It was a great experience and we did our best to teach every student there the guns up motion and also how to say “Get Your Guns Up” in English. The kids loved it. The picture quality kind of sucks because the digital cameras back in 2004 were pretty bad.

I was in London watching a musical, "Tommy."
After the 1st act I stood up to stretch and turned around looking to the back of the theater.
The guy behind me, a fellow alum, recognized my TTU tie pin, small as it was—we laughed at the circumstances, gunned up, and felt sorry for the rest of the world.
Living large in Texas...Texas forever.
Wow! Thanks, folks. You've made my new year so much happier.
I am going to Nicaragua (and I hope to return!!!) and I will take some Tech t-shirts and stickers with me. I’ll try to get a few kids to do guns up. How do you say that in Spanish?
Posting for John Galbraith

Guns Up in the Big Apple
Posting this for Charles (Jason C. Galvez), who I suspect is RdRdr19881991 just because there can’t be that many of us working as screenwriters and filmmakers in NYC. Giving the Guns Up in Times Square and in front of his office on Broadway.

Well, I wanted to remain anonymous, but that's cool.
I am seriously thinking about doing a film based on the Leach situation as soon as everything comes to fruition.
