PREVIEW
WHAT TO EXPECT | Woo hoo! A basketball game. The Aggies had a tough stretch the past few weeks, losing games to Texas, Nebraska, Texas (again), and Baylor. Still, the Aggies have a winning conference record. TAMU is okay both defensively and offensively, just barely breaking the top 50 in offense, #47, and #52 in defense for KenPom adjusted efficiency. And when I say that the Aggies are okay, that's not meant to be a shot at the Aggie. I would love for Texas Tech to break #100. Anytime that I've watched TAMU, I've always felt that they're just fine defensively, but struggle a bit to score offensively. They're not the best offensive team and like their defense a bit more.
Per DT's Tommy Magelssen, head coach Pat Knight knows that it's going to be a close game:
"You really don’t think you’re going to win by 10 or nine points," he said. "You think it’s going to be a last possession deal or an overtime deal. I wish, I mean I’ve been on teams before, played on teams where you knew you were going to win, but not this year."We pretty much figure it’s going to be a tight game and come down to the end."
More after the jump.
KEY MATCHUPS | I'm a little bit concerned about the Walkup, Middleton and Loubeau frontcourt. Middleton is an aggressive low-post player and I think that Reese or Singletary can't match-up well with Middleton and so it will be important that D`walyn Roberts will be ready to cover Middleton off the bench. That's a much more favorable matchup for Texas Tech. Roberson should have the edge, offensively, against Holmes, they're both about the same size, but I think Roberson is a better offensive player.

im having withdrawls. :(
Whoever said, 'It's not whether you win or lose that counts,' probably lost.
Should be a fun game to watch then.
If I were a basketball fan, I would be interested attending and seeing this one.
Sounds like a good time.
it will be close...
until the second half when tech starts making to many TO’s and mistakes.

We knew we were going to lose to KU and UT, but we think we have a chance against the Aggies? Our whole season we have been dominated down low on both offense and defense, and have you watched A&Ms big men. Those guys they have at the post aren’t soft. We need to come out banging with them in the paint with Lew and Cooper. PK might try to go with the smaller athletic lineup to wear the big guys out, but we need to realize that if we aren’t hitting our shots with our quick guys it will turn ugly fast. I think with the right lineups at certain times during the game, we have a good chance to win. But, if you let the Aggies dump it down and dunk in our face every three possessions we will probably lose big. I hope I’m wrong and we just play aggressively with all our might! Wreck ’em Tech!
