4. Fox Sports Southwest | Get the scoop on Texas Tech's Seth Doege as he talks about his journey to get back on the field.
This was part of the FSSW half hour spring review and I would love it if someone could dig around the FSSW website and find the all of the videos from the review and post them in the comments. A couple of things from the video, I do think that Doege's teammates like him, I get the impression that Alexander Torres and Shawn Corker are being honest. Also, I get why Torres was asked to comment on the team, but it was interesting that Corker was chosen to comment on the team as well. And it was good to see Corker as I don't think I saw him at all last year and it looks like he's filled out quite a bit and that's good.

7. Scout.com: The Elite 18 - No. 17 Donnie Carona
There is no doubt that Carona has a lot on his shoulders, which is why yesterday's news that Ryan Bustin would be transferring to Texas Tech after being at Kilgore College last year. I don't think we trust Carona and that's a shame because he does have a big leg, but I think kicking field goals is in his head. When DTN reviewed the special teams, the only kickers on the team are Carona, Kyle Fyfe and Bradley Hicks. If Hicks and Fyfe haven't supplanted Carona, then maybe this tells us something.

9. Red Raiders' special teams outlook: field goals a huge concern | College Sports Blog | Sports News | News for Dallas, Texas | The Dallas Morning News
Lots of talk about special teams this morning and we'll vote on the special teams MVP tomorrow, along with figuring out kicker, Tuberville will need to figure out who will return punts. There's always Austin Zouzalik, but Graham seems to think that incoming freshman Derek Edwards could do the job along with Ronnie Daniels. I don't know about Edwards as this would mean that Edwards would need to warrant enough time to play receiver as I can't imagine that Edwards would have his redshirt removed just to be a returner. Maybe Ben McRoy should be the primary returner?

I thought this was a good sports-debate and I'm a Maverick fan, so it's been pretty interesting to see Nowitzki mature over the course of his career.

Good interview with Doege and teammates;
I was glad to see Corker in the mix. I was hoping to see him on the field last year, but now we have him for four years. Something tells me that Doege is going to have a great year. I am pulling hard for him. Another great story in the long line of success stories at Tech. Maybe a season in the making. Bad news, our defense looked really bad in the video clip. “Shirley” they can’t be any worse than last year.
I don’t think there is anyone else to even consider when returning punts and kcik offs. We have the fastest guy in the Big 12-2. I think McRoy should be the go to guy. I can’t wait to see him out run Aggie defender to the goal line.
"I feel sorry for the guys," Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "They fought hard tonight. We didn't look good on offense or defense at times, and at times we looked pretty good. It's just, I don't know. Weird game.
+1
Doege seems to be ready to get this train started! I not as worried about the D. I think by Fall that killer mentality will start to kick in. Chad “i scream a lot” Glasgow won’t be a Coach Willis.
is it fall yet…..?

Yep
guy has won me over for sure. 4-2-5 can’t wait to see it in action this fall.
