It's easy to somewhat forget about all of the available candidates at defensive tackle. Graves is in the mix and he should be. I love Graves' motor and he's a strong guy. Should be a perfect replacement at the noseguard position and am hoping that he makes an impact.
Big 12 position ranking: Safeties - Big 12 Blog - ESPN
The Ubbenator has the Texas Tech safeties ranked #7 in the conference, which isn't bad considering Texas Tech had the worst pass defense in the Big 12 last year. Ubben fails to mention Terrance Bullitt, who I think will make a significant impact this year as the third safety.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but Beck thinks that Texas Tech has a chance to upset both TAMU and Oklahoma St. this year.

I think not so much..
.. while not a snap has been played those 2 would appear to have the better team – especially to a non coach media type. Returning starters, returning QB, scheme hasn’t changed etc, etc. Just saying I think we could agree that it’s better to be flying under the radar and then surface with 5 and 0 record mid October and have a shot – than to be over rated early. I think OSU and Atm will lose 1 game before Tech meets them.

Beating A&M and Oklahoma State in Jones Stadium was a sure thing between 1993 and 2009
1993 was the last time the Aggies won in Lubbock before the Fat Little Girlfriends Fiasco. 1944 was the last time Oklahoma State won in Lubbock before last year.
Home wins against the Aggies and the Cowboys should never be considered upsets.

Will struggle without the Dana system. We all know its easier to install the Airraid than it is to uninstall the airRaid.
So I fully expect another over rated / under preforming season from the orange boys of the north.

Pearlie only needs to live up to his name, his future as a Big12 NT is in the making….we are going to like him.
TTU’s Safeties are like most of the defensive postions this season…the questions surrounding what they might become only gives fodder to blog writer’s question marks…cause they don’t know and haven’t a clue.
Big 12 football coaches have spent most of the last 15 years complaining about the championship game.
They won’t have that game to kick around any longer. They also won’t get the benefits of the game.
The perception of the game has been that it was an unnecessary hurdle to a team’s road to the BCS National Championship game.
That is true.
It is also true that at the same time that the Pacific-10 and Big Ten are adding a championship game, and the potential for those teams to gain additional points in the BCS formula, the Big 12 will lose that capability.
Klein made me laugh….Big12 coaches no likey, perception is that it is unnecessary and a hurdle to BCS Championship…the perception is true (???)…so the very smart AD’s over in the very smart leading edge Pac10 and Big10 see that the extra game will add points to the BCS formula…but the perception of the Big12 coaches is true…
