WOW

they must be pissed that they lost their spots on the depth chart.
Weren’t they both number 3 on the depth chart?

I am sad to hear this

Sam just never seemed to be able to reach the potential that was expected when he was signed. Pearlie also seemed to lag. If there were other issues, I am sure the coaches are aware and this may turn out to be the best for them and for Tech. I hope the have success wherever they wind up.

I wish both Fehoko and Graves well. Thanks for your contribution to the Red Raiders.

Good luck and hope you have success where ever you end up.

"I feel sorry for the guys," Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "They fought hard tonight. We didn't look good on offense or defense at times, and at times we looked pretty good. It's just, I don't know. Weird game.

Why wish them well?

What did they actually contribute? I’m just gonna say adios and move on with it.

Maybe...

Maybe they didn’t like the new uniforms, eh? Just guessing. Seriously, hope those two are able to move on and find success in the rest of their lives.

Surprised but not so....

Both seem to have lost ground for playing time….

We all were excited when these two were annouced as signees, I am disappointed for them that they did see their dreams fullfilled at TTU, I believe we all wanted that for them.

This is a tough transfer after start of a semester of school…….

Best wishes to you both, heartfelt thank you’s for your contributions as Red Raiders !!

I think

this casts into stark relief what we all knew(hoped) we were getting from Captain Catfish…High quality athletes.

Don’t get me wrong. Fehoko was always one of my favorite players. He played his guts out last season even though he was played outta position. To be told at THIS juncture, “sorry, but youre just not good enough compared to these other guys” must be a tough blow.

Can’t we all just get along?

because I’m not giving them out.

by freakinout on Sep 19, 2011 5:59 PM CDT up reply actions

They want to play.

They weren’t going to play in this defense.

I don’t blame them but that’s life, we’ll move on without them.

Go register. Or else.

That's funny

my dad used to say…
“Stop the damn whining and go get me another beer before I punt your dog over the fence”.

Pretty much the same thing that your dad said. I wonder if they know each other?

That sounds like my dad too

except he threatened to punt me over the fence, as the dogs don’t talk back.

and now

he just mooches beer & cigars off me. as long as he provides the food and does the cooking I guess I can survive that.

Nice.

My dad did punt me over the fence. But the neighbor had beer and cigars and cooked out a lot – and the grass was greener too.

OR...

Chris Perry could quit and run for president.

And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

My memory is not that great, but it does seem that I recall a phone call being played on espn and I do believe I remember that from the book as well. Perry came in with a lot of hype and has done nothing, so no loss.

When one of my agents asked Joe Schad, the ESPN reporter, why they neglected to report those statements, he said he didn’t see how they were relevant to the story. But when Craig James gave Schad Adam’s cell number so he could hand the phone over to his roommate Chris Perry, a back-up lineman whom we’d suspended twice, his statement was considered relevant.

I specifically remembered this, too...

If I were Graves, I’d quit the team if I lost my spot to an a-hole like this guy.

by battledome on Sep 19, 2011 7:51 PM CDT up reply actions

These guys we’ve decided don’t fit in our “system”? Really? So what part of our system does Nancy fit into?

Just as long as we keep Nancy and his roomate happy I guess no one will be getting a call from daddy, and that in the end is apparently what matters.

Kinda shady if you ask me

I know the official story explicitly says they voluntarily left the program, got buried on the depth chart, etc. But they stuck on through one DC change and gave Glasgow/Tuberville a spring and summer they could have used catching on at another program if the writing really was on the wall. I’m going to stop short of making explicit accusations, but for what it’s worth, this is what Over-Signing Looks Like: players who stick around the team for multiple years and keep their noses clean but don’t necessarily make a big impact on the field decide to “voluntarily” leave the team and “pursue other activities” while a capacity incoming recruit class waits in the wings.

All accounts have been that Sam was a great kid and he has played well in the past, so being a senior this does seem odd. Graves is one of the should have been great guys that sometimes don’t pan out. Maybe he is just in the wrong system, he has some time left.

I met one of his younger brothers when i was at Pearl Harbor this summer.
Hopefully he gets his degree and enjoyed his time here

Just got a reply

from Aaron Dickens on Twitter asking about Fehoko and Graves. He said its mostly due to playing time. Seem’s sketchy timing, but Dickens seems to think they realized they werent going to play in this system….at all. Feel bad for them.

Maybe, but it is very odd for a senior voluntarily leave the program mid-season, especially one who has contributed so much.

Does this mean we have two more scholarships we can offer for 2012?

Something smells rotten here...

I only hope that catfish isn’t forcing out the older guys because he didn’t recruit them…
Graves is a shocker, he looked far and away the best DT coming back for 2011, and surely we need a semblance of experience in the LBs this year, could Sam not provide that?
All the best to both of you with your future endeavours..
