Yahoo story of Wes Welker -very nice
Yahoo is carrying a good story of Wes, though it is nothing we here on DTN did not already know. I think it is kind of funny how the media finally "gets it" about some things. Like many of you, I have been impressed with Wes's abilities since he first arrived at Texas Tech with little to no fanfare. Over the years he has developed a work ethic second to none. I wonder just how good some other "physically better" athletes would perform if they adopted Wes's routines. Since his injury a couple of years ago, he has developed his workout acumen to where it is probably the most invloved of any, anywhere. Creds to Yahoo for the story. Big creds to Wes for being "The Man!" Enen the Pats owner thinks so:
On Friday, Patriots owner Robert Kraft made it clear that Welker is a priority.
"I think Wes wants to be here and we want him here," Kraft said. "Hopefully when the season ends, both sides will be wise enough to consummate something. He’s pretty special. Any time there is a player on this team I can look eye-to-eye and be at the same level, he’s an important guy."

He provides a fleeting glimpse of what is "Right" in the NFL
What an impressive ambassador for Texas Tech.
The NFL has all but ran this fan away from the league. For years, they’ve promoted the idea of individual over team; of single play over perseverance and end result; of owner’s influence over coaches dedication. I get so pissed off when I see a defensive player celebrate a tackle on 2nd down…….
Wes Welker provides a strong example of what is still right. I will tune in tonight to watch him and the Patriots. I doubt if I watch the whole game. I might.
The Tom Landry, Staubach, Randy White Cowboys were my team.
Cowboys
My pro team, too, including all of the pre-Jones ownership. Some great players after but still the old guys are still my favorites.

When the Murchisons sold the Cowboys, Jones took over, Landry was gone, I lost most of my interest in the Cowboys.
The Jimmy Johnson years were my era
Enjoyed watching them play (thanks to scalpers!), but lost interest after Jerry fired Jimmy. Now “Coach Jones” has made ’em a joke!
+1
Loved Jimmy and the team he assembled. I was also a huge Landry fan growing up.

wow!
inspirational! love it! illustrates very clearly what I’m still struggling to teach myself: It all comes down to the individual work ethic.
