I would love this game to be like one of the 52-45 games we’ve been getting in all the other bowl games. That would be hilarious.

But I expect something like the 9-6 overtime game they played in November.

+1

I want Alabama to win it tonight.

I also agree with mbrown603 …. it will most likely be a game similar to the one these two teams played in November. Low score snooze fest.
And why should the rest ot the nation care …. either way the SEC walks away tonight with the BCS NC Trophy.

Bama doesn’t deserve a shot at the title. I am pulling for LSU to blow them away. I am not interested in seeing another snoozefest like in November. If this were not the final college football I wouldn’t even watch. Lsu is the better team. Better defense. Better body of work. Beat the tide once in bama. I got lsu big tonight.

What ? You guys dont like hitting, and tackeling !

I know we are XIIers stuck on the quick pass against the soft zone coverage, draw plays, and everyone running out of bounds

but damm this will be a nice hard hitting game with running backs that know how to hit a hole full speed and some man to man coverage, the constant huddling does suck

Watch out XII refs will be calling way more pass interference than gets called in a normal SEC game !

They’ll be sitting on the receivers and playing two deep, and Tommy Boy says that eliminates any passing from happening.

They have a championship worthy defense but their offense is not! We have seen this season that offense trumps defense.

When?

Because based off that assertion neither of them belong. And if any of them do, it’s Bama. Both their offense and defense played better than LSU that first time around.

Sucks for LSU’s defense. They are playing a pretty good game. Bad field position, lack of rest and ZERO offensive points! with 6 minutes they have kept the game to a two possessions. The LSU offense hasnt made a single adjustment. Option, run, option, sideline pass, repeat

For an option quarterback

Jordan Jefferson displays an almost total lack of understanding as to what’s supposed to happen during an option play.

by mojavereject on Jan 9, 2012 10:32 PM CST reply actions

they were definitely on top of it, I'm not taking anything away from their defense

but Jefferson very visibly sold his pitch man down the river a number of times.

by mojavereject on Jan 9, 2012 10:38 PM CST up reply actions

agreed

he didn’t appear to want to get tackled, then again I don’t blame him.

I guess I don’t understand the option game when it produced 0 points, and only a handful of first downs.

’bama threw the ball pretty well (for SEC standards), and woodshedded LSU. Definitely not how I predicted this game.

by freakinout on Jan 9, 2012 10:43 PM CST up reply actions

I'm surprised Jefferson didn't get yanked, honestly

I picked Bama for the win, but I was a little disgusted by how poorly LSU’s offense played.

by mojavereject on Jan 9, 2012 10:45 PM CST up reply actions

Well, gotta vote for Bama

Don’t really feel like a non-conference champion should even be in this game (until we get a playoff), but it’s hard to argue with 21-0. Bama kicked the Tigers pretty good tonight.

BTW, I’ve been chuckling all day about that scene in “Swing your Sword” in which Leach and the Kentucky Wildcats come to LSU, and the Tiger fans are cussin’ em in the parking lot at Baton Rouge. This one big, ugly, hairy hillbilly cusses UK and then turns around and moons the UK bus, at which Leach and all the players and coaches roar with laughter. Who wins? Kentucky pulls it out 39-36, and as Leach says “I bet the big hairy guy was pretty miserable that night!”

Watching this game gave me a little insight as to CTT's mindset.

Did anyone else notice how many “big” plays were answered with a run up the middle. It’s as if either team was scared of success. I know that sounds odd, but that’s what it looks like to me. Rather than get the defense back on their heels and riding the momentum of a big play, it seemed like the coaches were satisfied to calm things back down with a run for little or no yards.
I would have loved to see what either Stanford, Oregon or OSU would fare against either of these teams.

Okie Lite has a Great Offense and they would have put more than 21 points on the board and it would have been TDs and FGs

Iowa State had some very good games this year. They just did not perform well in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Look at who won Bowl games …. The Big 12 won all of their less 2. The Big 12 is a tough conference and on any given Saturday anyone could have an off day.
