Scott LeJuene Story and how I relate
Wow.....
I just got through reading the Scott Lejeune Story and all I can say is that I am amazed on how he has handled his situation. Because I can relate.
I have been suffering from GAD w/Panic Disorder for over 5 years now. It has not been pleasant. Medicine has helped me keep the jobs I've had, and also helping me with Graduate school. But the running undercurrent of unpleasent thoughts that Im sure LeJune had are still there. I also relate because it is difficult to understand for anyone who has never had it.
I hate the medicine that I have to take and I hate hearing people tell me that its either my fault or that its not my fault but I just need to be "more positive" or have "more faith". LeJune did what I wish I could do, he said screw what I wanna do, I am going to take care of my health. I wish I could do the same, but now I have a career and am full on in grad school.
But reading this.........it hits home. I am going to follow Scott's Example and just try to take care of myself, because we only have one life and we should make the most of it, and living in an imaginary fear that grips your mind is no way to live. And you can tell that he has made a full recovery. God bless Scott and pray for those that suffer from this.

Here's to your full recovery as well ........................
tho, I’ve heard some suffer longer for some reason … “Scott’s Example” is the one to follow. Then you’ll be able to enjoy your job and friends. Get busy and get well !!.
Keep plugging...
We all suffer from one malady or another and It’s good to discover validation and inspiration through the experiences of others. Best of luck along the path….and whoop some grad school butt!
Glad that you were motivated and inspired. I’m always amazed where we can find motivation in our lives. It sounds like you have a good handle on things and wish you continued success.

You have my prayers & my admiration
For sharing your experience. The more people who speak up, the more others will understand, I hope.
Anyone who has a loved one who has struggled with something like this knows there isn’t a switch that can be flipped on and off. Doesn’t work that way.
I will pray for your peace and healing. Take care of yourself and do what is best for you! I will also pray for smiles and laughs ( lots of Spanky’s fried cheese too) along the way!!!
P.S. Forest Flyer is right, we all suffer from one malady or another. I would be glad to point out anyone else’s challenges on DTN at any time… ;-) Kidding!!
Who ate your bowl of sunshine this morning, thundercloud?

I hope you are successful in conquering this illness
I know it may be hard to eliminate, but being able to move on with it being kept under control is something to strive for. If you can get cured, even better. Knowing what you are facing and being willing to take the steps needed to obtain a cure for yourself is a huge decision. Congratulations on making that choice. Your closest friends and family should be there at all times when needed, and will offer great support throughout this process. I will be prating for your finding a cure. Keep the faith and know that we here on DTN will be pulling hard for you. The reward will be a much clearer and brighter future.

Awesome Crossfire !
What a great step in faith, don’t listen to people who say anyone does not have enough Faith. It is one of those words that is bandied about as if we all know what it means ;-) !!
I admire that you ascribe to the notion of taking care of yourself first. How can anyone be of use to themselves or others without that pretty straightforward concept firmly in place ? ( No, it is not selfish as some would have us to believe. )
God Bless you my friend, I join in prayers on behalf of all who have this as part of their daily concerns…there is a light.
Thank you for sharing this with us, we are all Blessed by your courage and faith.

God bless as well.
Recovery from any illness or malady is not easy (and is not just a matter of faith or “moral failure”). Recovery can be tough, but it’s possible. If you’re willing to ask for help and to do what you need to do, you can do it! I know—I’ve been in recovery for something else the last 14 years. It’s not always easy, but life’s so much better and helping others with your problem can give purpose to your life.
God bless you, Crossfire!
Thanks for the refresh this morning Crossfire. Good luck to you and we will pray for you always.

It Is A Real Disease.
Let’s pray he is able to overcome this.
You are in my thoughts and prayers that a cure will come
keep up the good fight and keep your loved ones close to give you strength.

I have a daughter
who is a senior at Tech with OCD. Hardest thing for our family to deal with this is trying to explain that OCD, GAD, panic disorders are just as real as lung cancer or arthritis. It is real. The only thing you can do is take care of yourself, one day at a time. And know, there are those of us out there that say a prayer for ones just like you, my daughter and Scott every single day. I wish each of you peace.
Hang in there
I know that it must be very difficult. We’ll keep you in our prayers!
