Wednesday Morning Baseball Notes

Texas Tech Baseball:

The Red Raiders beat the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys, 17-6. Cory Large, a left-handed pitcher who is coming off of an injury, got the win. A number of relievers pitched some scoreless innings, including Brian Cloud, Josh Scofield, Paul Gonzalez and Colt Hynes. On the offensive end of things, Doug Thennis and Chris Richburg each had 4 hits last night along with 2 RBI each. LAJ's George Watson has a game recap and has this from Coach Hays.

"I didn't like the last three runs we gave up, but outside of that it was a good game," Hays said. "Large gave up those three runs there but they were jam shots. It was good to get him out there and the key will be how he feels (today) and the next day, and that's the big question. If he feels good there, maybe come Sunday he can help us."

Corn Nation has some baseball notes this morning while Rock Chalk Talk predicts which Big XII teams will make the field to play for the CWS.

This is baseball related, but more of a tribute to faithful DTN reader Royals Review, some YouTube video of Royals outfielder, Joey Gathright, jumping over a car. Pretty amazing.
