Texas Tech Basketball:

LAJ's Jeff Walker focuses on the inability of the Red Raiders to put away their opponent. PK sounds frustrated that the doesn't have a guy who can lead this offense while on the floor:

"There's got to be (better) game management, we like to say at certain times," Tech head coach Pat Knight said. "You've got to be able to handle the ball, you've got to take care of the ball. You're trying to build on your lead, not give them a chance to cut into your lead.

"... We need a coach out there on the floor. I can't go out there and lead this team on the floor. ... We need a guy to huddle guys up and tell them We can not turn the ball over,' or This is a situation where we have to get it stop.' It's got to come from somebody else besides the staff."

I think PK sees the flaws with this team, in fact, Walker and I agree on most of them, especially on the offensive end of the floor, which is another good reason to sign South Plains College's Nick Okorie to play at Texas Tech. The Red Raiders will need help on the offensive end of the floor and Okorie shoots for a good percentage behind the 3-point line (39.8%) and should give the Red Raiders that third option on the perimeter.

Walker also mentions the defensive shortcomings, which included leaving Austin Johnson open for 6 3-pointers as well as the missed free-throws.

FWST's Mike Jones has his Big 12 Glance and Wendell Barnhouse has his CollegeBasketball Insider, focusing on the fact that February can be a long and tedious month for those teams who are already assured of a NCAA birth.
